I loved clothing from the 1970s. They were like costumes -- you could be anything, from a milkmaid to a princess from India to a taxi-cab driver, you just had to dress the part. The magazines all had pattern and fabric advertisements, because most girls and women knew how to sew. It's such a shame these days that most of the fabric stores are closing down and there are fewer and fewer patterns to choose from.

This is so cute! I was looking for doen-style sewing patterns and found your video. I see the previous comments that the pattern is no longer available. Do you know of anything else similar? Or anyone else in the comments?

Is her sizing realistic? I wear a size 14 pant and I'd need to make a size 3x according to her measurement chart.

We tend to wear a much larger size in sewing patterns.

Hey I visited your channel after watching your video and found your content very nice. But your video doesn't have enough views. Do you know why views are not coming even after publishing a lot of videos? Because your videos are not SEO done. Without actually doing SEO, your videos are not generating enough views.

im sure you are a fantastic mother, but i hope that she gets an adequate amount of playtime, no strings attached about having to learn while she plays, but definitely only playing for the sake of playing with her dollies and such, and i hope she watches cartoons and children tv programms, i hope you dont expect her to memorize any geography names yet, that too be so unfair towards a four and also a five year old !, you should make in the oncoming years for her to watch little house in the prairie series on youtube and to read all the books, they are so adorable, and also enid blyton, the famous five, and also little women, and by frances hodgson burnett, the secret garden, little lord fauntleroy and a little princess, but when she s older, she doesnt need to access everything now nor learn everything now, but it s great how you open her mind to things and teach her to expand it a little at a time, only dont expect her to already know the names of the rivers, the mountains, the lakes and all the world capitals either, its too soon, she s a little girl, not a goose that you are stuffying with knowledge for christmas, like one of the little boys in the book little men written by louisa may alcott !, and let her just wind down, she needs that as well,

On the second magazine cover is Patti Hansen who I remember seeing in Glamour in 1972 when she was 16. She's been married to Keith Richards for 41 years now.

I love that! Thank you for sharing that with me. I have more issues like these and would love to make some more flip through videos once I get settled after a big move.
@msr111611 ай бұрын
@@makeanddohandmade ... There are other channels with someone paging through the entire magazine, even showing the back cover. It's maybe a few seconds for each page and allows us to savor the visuals and brings back memories from long ago. I love taking a trip back in time to see makeup, cologne, shoe and clothing ads I remember. Some items I bought, but others are no longer available and just a fond memory. Old magazine flip throughs are such an enjoyable way to pass the time where I don't feel guilty about having wasted hours on goofy videos.

This is absolutely amazing Brittan! I have been looking into home schooling for a month now. I have always told my husband home schooling is one thing I won't/can'r do, due to my lack of confidence that I am smart enough to actually equip my child with the knowledge necessary. However, as my daughter is going into third grade, I am no longer intimidated and would actually love to transition into homeschooling. Idk if it will happen or when, but I thank you SOOO much for sharing this! I look forward to continue to hear of you and your daughters journey❤!
@makeanddohandmade Жыл бұрын
You ABSOLUTELY can do it! I learn alongside my daughter. It teaches our children that we are ALWAYS learning and never stop thirsting for knowledge. I think you would truly love and enjoy it. There are so many wonderful curriculums, some perfect for getting your "feet wet" as a homeschooler. You can also look into getting state funds to pay for your curriculums (they must be free of religious content if you do use state funded money) and then supplement with your own bible <3 keep researching!!
@chanelbrunson Жыл бұрын
@@makeanddohandmade thank you for the adobe and encouragement 🩵! I definitely will keep researching and prayerfully one day, sooner than later, we can make the switch, I appreciate all the information☺️! & you are so right, everyday we are continually learning, it never stops!
