I've got the A720 and you're right, there is something special about the photos it produces...Canon put some kind of magic into this old small sensor CCD compact!

Vor vielen Jahren habe ich die SX130IS besessen. Dann verkauft. Schon mit der Kamera habe ich oft und gerne fotografiert. Eigentlich wollte ich mir eine Sony der RX100 Serie zulegen, aber diese sind mir einfach zu teuer. Nun konnte ich vor wenigen Wochen eine fast neuwertige SX160IS erwerben. Ich mag den Einsatz von gebräuchlichen AA-Akkus (2400 mh). Auch finde ich bei der SX160IS die Schärfe vollkommen angenehm! Modernere Kameras sind oft in der Schärfe vollkommen überzogen. Ich denke, die 150IS und meine 160IS unterscheiden sich in der Bildqualität nur marginal. Ich habe übrigens 45€ bezahlt.

So..show some photos. It can also do RAW, with a mod hack.

great video! i have a canon powershot e1 from 2008 and plan on carrying it daily. they do surely have this punchy, filmic texture to them.

i just bought this camera and i’m so sad there’s a shaky hand in the lower right corner and all of my pics come out blurry/ shaky :(, i tried messing with the settings for hours and i can’t find a fix

Definitely going to keep my eyes peeled. My phone takes junk pictures and i just want to get nice pictures of my 4year old and just casual things. Love the pictures you took with it.

So, I bought it. Initially, I wanted to buy old Fuji x100, but the seller was insane and asked 350 USD. But yesterday I saw this camera on a local site for 100 USD, a couple of hours ago I met the seller and bought it and have no refret. This is not just a compact camera. It's a FUN camera! :) There are some interesting modes that are really funny and useful. For example, here we have good tilt-shift emulation. It's an interesting experience to edit the picture even before you take a shot. It's like you're editing reality. It can make everything except bokeh. Think twice before to buy dslr or mirrorless camera. In most cases, compacts like this will satisfy most of your requirements.

Just found this little cam in my drawer after buying it 13 years ago when I was 9 years old. Found some gems on the old SD I had in it and was honestly shocked at how good they looked considering I did not know about editing at that age. An extra little kick was when you pulled out the exact same batteries that I am using for it now lol. Taking it to The Valley Of The Rocks in Exmoor, UK tomorrow and hoping to get some dope landscapes with it!

The first change I do is to reduce sharpness and contrast to minimum, if available. This gives you more room for post-processing. Everything else is secondary. And if you have a good camera, you can limit the ISO to a maximum value of e.g.400 or 800 but still using the automatic ISO, which choses the best ISO up to your limit. Because if you set the ISO to a fix value, you could get more blurry images. From my point of view it is better to get a somewhat noisy image instead of a blury image.

I really need to get it because I want my photos to have the white border you showed and local 1 hour photo places do not have that option. Neither do a lot of the online order places like Snapfish or Shutterfly. So thanks for sharing!

I got the GX1 with 20mm f1.7 it takes incredible images.

Nice review, I'm the original owner of a GF1, and it has served me well over the years. However, Panasonic's first ever mirrorless camera was the G1 (released in 2008), not the GF1. The G1 was also my first ever micro 4/3 camera.

I have canon sx150is And the problem the battery fully charge drain quickly 2-3 shots with flush the battery indicator is in red immediately I use brand new eneloop battery fully charge have any of you experienced this? or is this normal? Do you think I should change something in the camera setting?

Definitely rechargeable batteries are the way to go. I love that I don’t need a specialized battery to use it ( AA recharge batteries are available everywhere). I bought mine at a local thrift shop for $20.00 in excellent condition 😊

I bought one earlier this year to use cheap vintage lenses. Unfortunately there is no focus assist when using "shoot without lens" so I bought a G6 which has focus peaking, and gave the GF1 to my partner with an autofocus lens. Now we're both happy.

I ended up picking one up. I cant seem to import the photos into my computer, any tips?
