If you were to take this ride on the first day or the Pa buck season you would find many of the camps along this road to be closed. And there would be no hunters staying at the Slate Run hotel.

It does not usually and I have not seen Pettecote Junction campground fully flood, but I am sure it has come close before. This is in my 25 years of living here

The small creek you crossed looking for a way down, the trail towards Landrus Road, can get you to the bottom. Right about where you started back there is ropes tied off so you can rappel down. You can get to the bottom of the small falls. Unfortunately, you can't get to the bottom of Sand Run Falls from there. The bank is too steep. You'd have to cross the the creek at some point. Still worth going down to look.

Best drive along video. You describe where you are & a bit of historical knowledge .Do you have one of drive from & up Cedar Run to log cabin built in 1930 on left on way to Lettonia? I & my wife were invited inside by owner ,1993. You can not imagine how beautiful it is. All of the logs on walls & floor were sawed reviling the grain & then a finished sealant applied. I use to long range deer hunt, ( 24 bucks), up Slate Run & staid at Doc Fetters, 3rd house on Pine Creek, in Cammal, built in 1890, can be seen in Logging Pa. Magazine.

Awesome park! Funny watching people trying to stand on the glass. To get my wife out to the end she had to walk backwards while holding my hand. Hates heights. The bench near the glass gets a lot of use.

Yeah we got a kick out of watching people venture onto the glass as well! Some absolutely would not. Awesome place for sure!

I used to live in Springfield WV as a child. My dad would always take us and we always frequented the C and O Canal and the Pawpaw Tunnel. When did they put up that front barrier? That wasnt there when i was a child. Both ends of the tunnel were open. It definitely takes away from the aesthetics of the view.
@33thewitt3 жыл бұрын
I agree! I am not sure at all when the barrier was put up. So neat though, and learning about the history of the building of it was just awesome. A lot of cool stuff in the area too

Imagine how dark it would be in the Paw Paw tunnel at night. I hiked and biked thru it many times in the day, usually used a light. A man stepped in a hole in the boardwalk, hurt his leg some. Falling rocks caused the hole.

@33thewitt4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I noticed that after uploading and watching it. I just performed the calibration so hopefully it is good next time. Will test it out today and see. Thanks!
@33thewitt3 жыл бұрын
I did the full calibration and feel it fixed the issues. I will post a new hiking video soon that will show that. Also received the Do it All handle extension and it is sweet!! Can control the Pocket 2 from a distance and can attach a wired microphone via a 3.5mm jack on the Do it All handle. Can also connect a DJI wireless microphone but I have not ordered that yet. The horizon did feel off at the beginning of this video. I think it got better as we went, but was off at the beginning for sure. I did a quick test with it after I calibrated it and did not see the horizon issues.
