18:18 hung the net, that's unusual in the NBA, I think they're designed not to.

Someone stretched this video. It should be 4:3. The players look too wide this way. How can anyone do this or watch it this warped? Sadly people keep these videos in circulation.

Jim Brandon never played a RS game in the NBA. Interesting that he's starting this game.

Celtics should have put the ball in Larry’s hand coming down the stretch. He was obviously in the zone in the 4th and they kept trying to work it around. Gotta go the guy with the hot hand and either get them to double team or stop him.

Whos idea was it to put these two on the same microphone. Neither one could do play by play. So theyre both doung color, with no play by play man. Wow.

The Lakers lost game 7 by just 2 points,such a heart breaker. Jerry West won the MVP award in spite of the Lakers’ loss. No consolation for West as he wanted the championship.

What an incredible game. I love the early 80s style of play: tough, skilled, fast, and the refs called an honest game (unlike the 90s and beyond when they starting throwing out the rule book to accommodate star power). Dr J took over the 3rd quarter, and Bird went full Larry Legend mode in the 4th. Fair to say that Bird lacked much supporting cast this series, though Cowens was amazing. Before watching this series, I had no idea how good Cowens was. Thanks for the upload!
@HoolaballooКүн бұрын
Dr. J lacked supporting for years: McGinnis, "World" Free, Bibby and very often poor Dawkins in clutch moments. Just Doug Collins (then injured), the back-up Steve Mix and C. Jones at moments could help, not being losers as the aforementioned teammates.Then came Bobby J. and Mo and Lionel C. and was much better but center spot had always to be a problem, before Moses joined.

Cowens was incredible. 1973 league MVP for a reason.

great Doc move in the 4th, had a groin pull/see thigh wrap that half the season into the playoffs...so much easier to follow the game, camera follows the ball, now they just show from half court,longer view...

What a bunch of stars on both sides : Olajuwon and Sampson vs Moses, Dr.J, Mo Cheeks, Bobby Jones and Barkley. 76s were stacked as hell, championship contenders. Rookie Barkley was already a beast ! Look at how he dunked on Sampson, Impressive !
@stephendeluca44792 күн бұрын
I remember Chamberlain getting goaltending calls against him frequently that weren't goaltending. There's one on film in the final game of the '72 finals that got called against him on a Dave DeBusschere jumper. The ball hadn't started downward yet. Sounds like this one on Hawkins might have been one of those.

Look at that Elvin Hayes 20:19! That guy was an absolute monster!! And to think Wes Unseld was also on that Bullets team. And I always thought Moses Malone and Maurice Lucas were big dudes…Me? I think I will let them have the ball and live to play another game…of black jack.

Sixers wore the Spurs down in this game. Nice moment when Gilmore fouls Erving in a gentleman's manner late with the game wrapped up. Those two entered the ABA together with Gilmore getting Rookie of the Year. Liked Snapper's analysis.
