'Kreisleriana' as the central work was stupendous. Often pianists play it in a superficial, fast, rather brittle way as character pieces, and there are places of the madcap Kreisler in the work. This performance was much more substantial, with a breadth of expressive characterization, allowing the music to breathe and the phrase to be shaped. Especially notable were the places where an earlier section returns. Each time he played the return differently from the first time, as something had happened in the interim. A wonderful, expressive and musically intelligent performance.

Born in Vienna I am now - after a long life in Eisenstadt, Salzburg and Innsbruck - fascinated listening to Israel Haydn Quartet playing pieces from composers who lived and worked in three of those towns. And this happens in addition in a city which I have visited some years ago as a guest of KKL. A great performance of four outstanding musicians in Jerusalem!

Very charming: "Stille Nacht, heilige Nacht" in Ivrit. That means "Salzburg in Jerusalem": I am delighted, because I visited Jerusalem several years before with great pleasure! Shalom!
