In the 1980s I used to live in London and I ran a less than legal buisness. Often houses would get squatted and it would have taken months to get them out through the courts. So my team would take a locksmith and with the keys from the owner would enter the property. Squatters never changed locks they were by there very nature lazy people who occasionally put up barracades but no problem to us. We would litterally throw these people and there junk out onto the street. This was the days before Mobile phones and by the time the police got there they were out and new locks were on the doors. Did it for 4 years. Police never gave us one moment of trouble.

I wish that I would have seen this in 2014 whe. Squattersitely took co trol of my home whe. I was my brother who was an alcoholic would let more people and they would move in within a matter of an hour they would have all their belongings in there and the way they would get the water to stay on after I go to shut off they would turn it on I even put cement into the into where the they wouldn't unscrew the water to turn it back on and I got fined no matter what I did with the police they would not do anything I had to go through the courts of course and I was actually just recently separated from my husband and had no income so I had to move in with my sister and I'll leave them there they stole everything and destroyed the property these people have like a web of people that they just tell what tricks and trades to do to squat in someone's house and how to keep switching up the electric so you don't have to pay the electric it's amazing. I would have never believed it finally the way that they did get out before I even went to court was I walked into my home and I smelled gas and I called the police because I knew there were children living upstairs and they're at this point there was no electric on i.dialex.911a d.told.them that a.strong gaz.odor.was in the house...the cire xepartme t immediately came to.my house ... if I would have known this one in the beginning I would have called the fire department the very first day these squatters.took ovef my home. instead i would call philadelphia police 29th district a d wod not help me i k ew that i needex to go through the courts and sheriff department but i could not afford.the ourt.a d legal fees. A wom. Fire captain belie ex me nd went in to the home to fi nd man with his 4 children there, he told her that i came i to the house and turned the gas stove on. . She believed me she got them out within an hour and help me board up my house. Now ..i understand that the policee ould not legally do.anything, but i was so.desperate to have these thieves out oclf my house , they would put their hands on me a d no matter how mNy times i called the police the.police would say it was my word against theirs. The police began to taunt me when i would call. It was horrific. A year a d a half of true terror and they stole everythingi that was of any value and destroyed my home. To this day I am greatful to this ONE Woman who took time to listen and took it a step further and removed theze intruders without a second thougbt. from My house that night. Now that is all it took, was for decent human being doi g the right thing. I mever understood the absolute la k of empathy and lack of respect of the philadelphia police department. When most of the police aT the 29th district could ot have bothered and lookex.at me as the problem. Shame on those offi ers that were o.n the calls when i would call 911, a d they would never help me in any way. A ove and beyond was not in their vocabulary.
