I just want to say thank you. Thank you for loving the game and more importantly, thank you for GETTING IT. I can't remember the last time I watched any youtube video all the way though, let alone a reaction video or game walkthrough but I'm about to stay up until 3am so I can watch your X-2 video. Then I'm starting my 1st play through in a few years. I love when someone experiences the FF X story for the first time.

When I first heard Ganondorf say "Raru placed his faith in you", something didn't seem right to me. Yet somehow I knew, there was a split in the timeline. (I didn't even think I would speak of something like this, even in a video game!!!) 🤯🤯🤯 You have my like.

To answer the question about Summoner class having horns on their head, it's actually something that goes further back to when Summoners as a class where first introduced as a class/job in FF III, where part of their design included a single horn not too unlike what the Ronso have here on their heads. It was said that this horn is what helped them make contact with higher entities, kinda like an antenna to the divine. So when they say they will make a statue for Yuna with a grand horn on head, that's a little joke/reference to the Summoner class/job's design.

I know I'm really late to the party, .but no one mention the abomination, which is the Japanese exclusive radio drama that took place a few years late. Imo totally non cannon, I'm keeping this as my happy ever after.

This is one of my all time favorites in the series. It definitely hits you in the feels. however, if you want to play a game that is just as emotional, a little bit sad, but with a substantially more positive ending then you should definitely give Final Fantasy IX a try. Trust me when I say, you will not be disappointed!

Realizing I can watch people experiencing the most emotionally charged stories of my childhood for their very first time is possibly the most cathartic thing I could have come to realize. If you haven't yet, FFX-2 exists and is the only FF game to be a sequel continuing a story with carry-over characters for it. If it didn't exist this still would have been perfect... it seems Final Fantasy knows how to do Bittersweet very well. Since FFX-2 DOES exist and has a true perfect ending to this story, I'd recommend it. People shat on the game because it was more feminine centric in an industry of mainly male audience but that never stopped me from proudly proclaiming that FFX and X-2 are the most emotional powerhouses in games imo.

Jrpgs were better with smaller budgets. Compare this game to all the moan and gasps found in ff13 or something newer and its so cringe. Love this era of games

@@Pezint spot on. I agree with this. I just miss when they had less monry for dialogue and less memory space on a disc for sound. So thry had to budget when they had the character making noise. I am sure a lot of Yunas silence nowadays would be filled with her making some sort of noise. Older models and sprites left so much tp br imagined it was like reading a book (or a legend like you said) it just feels more epic as your mind controls more. Man... i rewatched some ff13 sense the other day. My god the writing was the pits. And when they look so real its jarring why characters keep nodding and moving in unhuman ways while speaking

What I have always adored is that the game isnt Tidus' story at all. It's Yuna's. Tidus is just our narrator, the medium in which we are told the tale. We hear his inner thoughts. His fears. His emotions. And, it gives so very much to the story as a whole because Square had to figure out how to escape the "inner monologue"/"speaking to self" trope that previously came from text games. How it all weaves together slowly and the grand reveals are brilliant, between Lady Yunalesca, and what Sin is, and what Tidus truly is as well. The fact that this was so early in the PS2's life cycle was absolutely remarkable for its time as a game, and the cast is giving it their all.

I stayed up through the night watching the whole thing. Seeing Aerith as the second date at the Gold Saucer definitely surprised me too. I think it's really sweet and wholesome that instead of trying to push for a specific girl by deliberately choosing worse dialogue options/ignoring side quests for the other, you just focused on trying to pick the best choices for both. It's what Aerith would do (I love her so much ☺). Thank you for sharing your journey with us. Also, to the point about Aerith saying, "Yeah you are but..." during the Gondola scene, she wasn't going to say you're not Zack (she literally just wrote a love song and poured her heart out for Cloud during the performance just before the ride). It's meant to convey that Aerith realizes the Cloud we've been playing as this whole time isn't the real Cloud, which she echoes again during the sleeping forest scene where she says, "I want to find the real you." Cloud is pretty messed up mentally, which becomes more evident during the Temple chapter where Sephiroth's influence on him is pretty telling. This is kind of spoiler territory (this will be explored more in the next game) so I apologize if I spoiled that. Combined with Marlene confirming Aerith likes Cloud (Marlene says koibito, aka lovebirds in the JP translation), I think the game wants to show pretty clearly that Aerith loves Cloud more now. Even her "homecoming" (dying) dream is to go on a last date with Cloud, whose ideal date is just a walk, which he mentioned back during Casa Del Sol. I'll admit, I do feel really bad for Zack though, but instead of dwelling on that, Zack just uses it as all the more reason to save Cloud. He's a really stand up guy.
