What other courses do you recommend preparing for before PT school? To clarify, you’re talking about grad school?
@AspectAman

Yes, this video is about Grad school, specifically PT school. Anatomy is the best course to prepare for ahead of PT school, but if you wanted to study other subjects I would say physiology would also be good.

Thanks for this video! I’m currently debating attending either Samuel Merritt or West Coast in LA. I really really like SMU’s program but it’s more expensive and I would have free housing if I were to attend West Coast. In your opinion, would you recommend I go with the cheaper option, despite me favoring SMU’s program?
@AspectAman
@AspectAman 2 жыл бұрын
Hey! It really is your decision! I recommend creating a list of items that you prioritize in your future PT experience and seeing how well each schools program values are similar to your own and what the cost vs resources you will have available to you in each location. Thanks for watching!
@blas4976
@blas4976 2 жыл бұрын
@@AspectAman thanks so much for your response! That is exactly what I’ve done and SMU edges out the other school, in terms of that. However, in your opinion as an SMU student, would the extra 40-60k+ in loans be worth the SMU program? Or would it not be and should I just worry about getting my DPT wherever I can because loans are already so much as it is? I really appreciate all the help!

@@blas4976 My daughter followed the savings rout for UC and she regrets it. Go to the place you will have the best resources. Good school, happy professors, cheap schools, not so happy professors which equals not a great learning environment.

Stupid question, but do PTs get paid during rotation hours? You referred it on the video about “working” hours.
@AspectAman
@AspectAman 2 жыл бұрын
No such thing as stupid questions! Some places may pay their students. For example I know doing a rotation at a VA (location specific) might actually pay PT students but most often there is no pay, just learning experiences!

@@AspectAman thank you for replying. I don’t mind not getting paid, it’s just that it takes a lot of our time. How someone works part time, study and do rotations? Crazy lol

Do you have any videos where you talk about the GRE? I am so nervous about the inconsistent information I find about experiences and how to better prepare for it. I am actually very discouraged by my own undergrad school, they provided information that seems very misleading. I got a link with all sorts of information re the GRE which say that half the test is about calculus! And they have 100 questions about organic, inorganic and many other chemistry topics, 100 questions about physics 100 of psychology, 100 more on biology but when I looked up KZbin videos, NO ONE EVER talks about any of these subject la being in the GRE! I don’t know how to get a hold of someone who just passed it or even someone who just took it! I feel so hopeless and so discouraged. Any information you have will literally save my life!
@AspectAman
@AspectAman 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I do have a video about the GRE. I can assure you that organic chem is not tested in the GRE, the subjects you listed are tested on the MCAT but are not 100?'s per subject. Link to GRE video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mp7Kq2mqZaqpfa8

I got a 160Q 158V and 5.5 AW. THERE IS NO PSYCH/BIO/PHYSICS. It’s tricky math and reading comprehension/vocabulary and an argument/analysis essay. You’re taking the general GRE EDIT: I was also accepted to DPT school if that helps

I actually found this video very helpful. Thank you. I feel like I have a better insight of what to expect. When you mention leggings and sports bras and having a lot of different clothing handy. What do you mean? As a Muslim I’m very conservative and It would mean the world to me if you could Just explain a little bit more what you meant. Thank you again for doing these videos
@AspectAman
@AspectAman 2 жыл бұрын
Glad the video was helpful! For PT school, we many times have to make skin to skin contact to better understand what structures (muscles, bones, etc) we are on. For labs, it is generally recommended for girls to be in sports bras and shorts for those days when learning skills. It is of course possible to do the skills fully clothed, it just might be slight difficult to get a good "purchase"/ grip with clothes on. You can always let your professors know and they will work with you to come up with a solution.

Hello! I'd like to clarify, are all Outcome Measures / Assessment Tool Questionnaires licensed? Are the clinics or hospitals paying for it before the PTs can use it?
@AspectAman
@AspectAman 3 жыл бұрын
Hi! They are all valid measures which can be found online, free or for a price. Usually the one's that are not free are not widely used as there are other options that can determine the same outcomes. As a PT, you would have access to them without paying for them yourself!
