Tie a loop in the red one Slip the loop over the but of green and twist and rethread greed through the remainder of the loop of red it look like -XXXX--- Yer guy/gall gets the rope just use two fingers through green and pull down from the apex of the red loop Slips right off No knot the pass through whatever

In the climing community we call that knot a Swiss death knot.. I've never experienced that but I guess I can imagine why... I have done many double rope repels using this very same technique
