Exttemely goofy list with many puzzling choices. I never seen anyone use atog in 93/94 except as a one-of in arrtifacy heavy decks. I have never seen anyone use witch hunter or royal assasin in 93/94 as they are expensive and useless given the metagame. I did aee people use those in casual kotchen table games way back i n the day. But not anymore. Also, White Knight and Order Of Leitbur are strictly worse than Black Knight and Order Of The Ebon Hand, because Ebon hand and Black K ight are immune to both swords and terror. There are many orher weird choicea on the list and many carda which are better and more useful than stuff included here. There are ma y other cards on the list whoch I've never seen anyone use in 93/94.
@90sTCGgamingКүн бұрын
Well, it's ok to disagree. I'd like to hear more about those creatures I had overlooked. Atog does appear in top8 monored decklists, full playset. IMO there are just about 15 creatures that see play consistently, top 50 has to include non tier-1 decks like monowhite. Black Knights are better cards than white knights. I mean, I am a MonoBlack player! However, they are supporting actors in monoblack; White Knights are more important for their archetype and take advantage from cards like Crusade and Army of Allah.

Lightning Bolt is definitely a great card, and monored is almost always a viable deck in any format. I can see where you're coming from! However, one copy doesn't have a great impact on a game. At least compared to the other cards. That's the rationale behind it.

Hi, I don't agree with zoo and reanimator in the list. I think Gro-Atog and oath decks are stronger, in my opinion. Good video.
@90sTCGgamingКүн бұрын
Hello! What do you mean by Oath decks? I think I included them in the Terrageddon category, stating that I like the GW TerraOath/Ponza version (Sphere of Resistance) even better than the one with creatures! Zoo is a deck that is very well liked right now, and it's chipping away at Sligh's usage. Honestly I don't know Gro-Atog decks enough because they aren't much used here but yeah, Reanimator decks have some consistency issues!

Reprints of Oubliette say the creature phases out, which wouldn't trigger Triskelion's ETB. Do Old School rules ignore the errata?
@90sTCGgaming2 күн бұрын
You are correct! My bad. Oubliette was errata'd and it's a different case. Most Old School community play under these updated rules. So Triskelion would just phase back in with whatever amount of counters it had. There are still, however, hardcore players who use the old rules entirely.

Yeah, it's great. That's quite the opposite of what I wish, though. Trading card games are meant to bring people together, and that's why the game was a big thing back in the 90s. In this video a tell a story about a seller from my hometown (a big town, not even a city) buying 12 boxes and selling out in 2 hours. People were coming back, possibly telling their friends. That's the good part of the hobby. Right now, it's only about the money.

You have only one card to dig/draw/modify topdeck mode flow: braingeyser. How are singleton copies in the sideboard any effective?
@90sTCGgaming4 күн бұрын
I look at this the other way around: the sideboard tells you a lot about a deck. If you see a sideboard like this one, you can tell that sideboard cards are just an extra. Certain cards, I don't want to draw them in multiple copies: if I draw them I'm happy, if I don't I just execute my plan and I think I can live without them.

Definitely a nice art! There were so many of them. Dark Ritual became THAT good when it was paired with Necropotence. Then also Phyrexian Arena came out, and combo decks arose with the Urza block. In Old School, it's a double edged sword unless you're playing Mind Twist. Getting 2 for 1'd is always rough! Still an electrifying card nonetheless.

Goblins has not a bad MU against Replenish. Actually, the mix of aggression and mana denial is one of the best ways to fight Replenish
@90sTCGgaming7 күн бұрын
Yes, it can work especially in game 1. Not a terrible matchup, but I call it bad assuming UW Replenish is using Chill. Elves, Terrageddon and Madness are the best decks at beating UW Replenish. Goblins can get away with the win but they really need to draw Tormod's Crypt. Also Chill is devastating and Red Elemental Blast is somewhat situational because key spells are white. If you lose game 1 you are in a world of trouble. Are you playing Goblins? Red or RG? Are you having success in that matchup?
@kzelmer7 күн бұрын
@90sTCGgaming chill is.not as good as it is against sligh due to access yo naturalize and lackey. I am a sligh player but I have played woth goblins vs parallax replenish and it feels more comfortable than sligh
@90sTCGgaming7 күн бұрын
@@kzelmer Yeah, I agree: Sligh is an easier matchup for Replenish compared to Goblins. Not by a landslide though. Sligh can play a land a finish with burn spells even though Goblins are more consistent overall. As far as I can understand you used RG with Port, Wasteland. Naturalize and possibly Tranquil Domain. Definitely better suited for the matchup compared to R Goblins. Yeah, Lackey is a dangerous card for those who don't play Blue Elemental Blast. And I don't think I would.
@kzelmer7 күн бұрын
@90sTCGgaming yep, I cant think of goblins without 3 wastelands/3 ports im the current meta. Mana denial should be a big part of goblins right now. And yes, the Rg version is far superior to monored

@90sTCGgaming19 күн бұрын
Yeah, I like Divine Offering too and Conversion is rare. Lions, it depends on the metagame: which decks are you playing against the most? Also keep in mind that this is budget, which makes things more vague. I look at Savannah Lion as the leader of the pack in monowhite even though a budget, unpowered version of Triple S is possible. Triple S (assuming it's Savannah/Su-Chi/Serra, some make it Savannah/Serendib/Serra) is good but I feel like Serendib Efreet is mandatory. Make it 4!

@90sTCGgaming yep, but the lands were worth a lot then once 4th edition came out (not as much as now). Some of the cards I saved are worth nothing, but haven’t been touched since then. looks awesome! i wanna get a bit more into 60card format, what is considered fallen empires ruleset? like is it legacy legal?
@90sTCGgaming26 күн бұрын
Old school has many different formats, I'll make a video about that too. It's confusing. Swedish is the only format that doesn't allow cards from Fallen Empires set, neither do Ravenna Rules (same as Swedish, but it allows reprints). Atlantic, Pacific and Eternal Central do allow Fallen Empires. Legacy includes cards from Old School sets, so Fallen Empires cards like Hymn to Tourach are legal, but it has its own banlist. Make sure to take a look at that. This deck is almost legal in Legacy: Strip Mine, Sol Ring and Mind Twist are banned. The deck is just not cut for the format, and it loses two very important cards plus Strip Mine. Relevant differences between formats are: - Cards from Fallen Empires set might be included or not. - Strip Mine, Mishra's Workshop, Shahrazad, Time Vault, Recall might be restricted or not. - Mana burn might be on or not.

so you can go for a serra (or maybe 1 or 2 serendib efreet?) instead of tetravus/animate dead in the SB? what moves do you think you can do to build a solid SB?
@90sTCGgaming28 күн бұрын
You need to figure out the macthups you need to target, those you are losing with your maindeck. The sideboards of most Robots decks are set against Red decks because Red has the tools to be dangerous. If you are afraid of Shatterstorm you should be going with Blue Elemental Blast. Other than that many players use Circle of Protection: Red, City in a Bottle. Mirror Universe also looks ok. To put it short, it looks like they are afraid of aggressive strategies.
@90sTCGgaming28 күн бұрын
That being said, Serra might be better than Serendib Efreet in this deck. Serendib is nice against control decks, Serra is more versatile. Playtesting is key to deciding which one suits you better.
@blazingelse910429 күн бұрын
I think Lightning Bolt clearly deserves #1. I like Sedge Troll, but not as much as most people do. It's nice that it survives your own board wipes, Bolts and is great in combat, but I think it is actually more vulnerable than most people think. It dies to Swords, Disintegrate, Wrath, Terror, Ashes to Ashes, Abyss, Drop of Honey, even Fissure.
@90sTCGgaming29 күн бұрын
That's a respectable opinion, I can't argue against Lightning Bolt in the first place! Yes, Sedge Troll can be removed but it will be harder than usual and only StP and The Abyss are very common maindeck cards in my experience (but this depends on the format/banlist). Even harder to remove with Hymn to Tourach protecting it, if allowed.

Serra is the best creature, isn't it?
@90sTCGgamingАй бұрын
In white and control decks, it is. In Oldschool, there is at least one creature that happens to be better than Serra Angel. That's Serendib Efreet, who can be played on turn 1 or 2 with way more ease. The other one that has a case is Juzam Djinn, and that's mostly because of the circumstances: Juzam and Serra are similarly great, but Juzam has a better context thanks to Dark Ritual, hand disruption and removals. Serendib Efreet and Juzam Djinn have the same drawback, and that's a clue. I'm going to make a video about the best creatures in OS, stay tuned!
@GGGregGamerАй бұрын
Only 2x Serra Angel?
@90sTCGgamingАй бұрын
This deck relies on Serendib Efreet rather than on Serra Angel: it can be played more quickly. Usually on turn 2, but it can happen on turn 1 too even though it's a bit harder. Not only that, this deck draws more cards than the unpowered version. However, I understand why you want more copies. If you want to make room for more angels, I'd suggest trimming 1 Silvan Library, Braingeyser or 1 Armageddon.
