i thought bpump had a policy that you can record yourself but make sure you don’t have others in the frame? also as excited as I was that sorato anraku was there at the gym when you guys were, I wonder if you guys had asked permission from him to record as he climbed and post it on your channel? a clarification would be appreciated!

I totally agree! Another rule I follow is finding the "purpose" of the climb. For example, someone who is warming up hops off for someone who is projecting. This is especially important if they are struggling andnot not able to wait where they are or possibly not get back to where they are within a few attempts. That being said, I often just jump off when I am directly in someone's path, even if it's not my fault and regardless of skill or purpose, bc that's just the right thing to do. :)

Was at the gym last night and it was overcrowded. There was this guy who would not stop climbing on his traverse dyno project underneath a handful of people 10-15 feet above him. The situational awareness on some people just isn’t there sometimes.

If the difficulty of this gym wasn't widely known, then posting some of these videos on insta would be exactly the boulders people would call out for "V2 in my gym". Body positions very intricate, low friction on holds and walls and complex setting combined with wall colors that make it difficult to judge the steepness. On tape even the green tag Sorato is trying looks relatively okay, but I reckon even holding a single position on it would be nearly impossible

For the love of christ dont use outdoor shoes on the wall, all that filth on thoos shoes are going on holds people are gonnna touch, its the same as barefoot climbing dont do it in the gym.

Call me old fashioned but i miss when gym climbing helped for the outdoors, not this "pArkOur" Bullcrap.
@Marcus_-if4yhКүн бұрын
There are so many examples of climbers who climb primarily at bpump and send the hardest boulders in the world outside. Take kokoro fuji or yoshiyuki ogata or tomoa, all climb at the cutting edge of bouldering and do a lot of training at bpump. One of the base necessities climbing in bpump is finger strength which is said by katsu (the owner) in Jonathon Sin's recent video. Comp climbers do send hard stuff outdoors whilst training this "parkour" style. If you don't want to climb jumpy climbs then you don't have to. There are plenty of outdoor style climbs in bpump at every level. They cater to people who want to try both styles or just one. "Parkour" may not be that reflective of outdoor climbing but in a competition setting it definitely feels like the natural progression.

@@climbwithus3993climbing comp style definitely helps with outdoors because of the incredible attention to body tension and positioning. Learning comp style helped me to send v10 in a session.
