Out west there is nothing that will bring the water temperature down quicker than the wind even during the summer. But the way they draw down Lake Mohave in the fall I feel really pushed the fish out. Those two things combined with lack of cover has a lot to do with it that hasn't changed . That was the great thing about Lake Mead when it was full pool Overton had so much cover once the fish moved in when it was below 60° they stayed shallow all winter long . Spinnerbait crankbait Disneyland you know what I'm saying?

what do you consider cold water? curious, if a 3lb smallie is considered a large fish in lake mead, then what's the record small mouth for lake mead? Seems like a lake full of small fish, but I'm no expert on lake mead.

No kidding chief. However, last summer I actually caught my pb large mouth bass at Mohave on a spook. Son of a gun scales 5.11 lbs on the official Mr scary fishing scale. But most of the time I only catch wind at Mohave
