What a mixed bag this season has been. I can accept I won’t be leaping up and down seeing another like CCS has been signed in the next few weeks. But my god we need a defence coach. Without some changes I struggle to see how we progress next season rather than stagnate or decline.

Such an amazing player and the nicest person you could meet. Me and my son are absolutely gutted to see him leave, he's his favorite player and have chatted to him at every game. Even when he's battered and bruised after a game he stays behind and chats to everyone. A huge loss for Quins. 😢 He has done fantastic with the Italy team and we look forward to following his career from afar. Hopefully one day he may return to the quarters. Sad to see him go. It’s tough to play in the 10 shirt with the Smith train in full swing. But always contributed well when called upon. Played with proper Quins attitude. Was a suprise to hear he’s not with the club next year and a shame. All the best with whatever is next.

Yeah, we weren't good. I think we have a couple of major problems at the moment: One is a lack of dynamic forwards. Apart from Dombrandt and Cunningham-South we have no one really going hard into contact and getting us on the front foot, and it's only going to get worse next season without Esterhuizen helping out. Look at the difference between how our props play and someone like Genge. I don't like to criticize Joe Marler because he has been a great player for us over the years, but when he's carrying the ball he goes to ground before he even makes contact. It just makes it too easy for the opposition. The other problem is our defense. We are defending so narrow. I don't know if this is planned, or if the players are going out of position themselves, but teams seen to have cottoned on to this now and are catching us out in the wide channel all the time. It's happened in a few of the big games we've lost this season. It gives them an easy 30-40 metres every time. If we want to be in the play offs every year, I think we need to recruit a couple of young, powerful forwards. I know we've just signed Lamositele, but a 30 year old?
