It doesn’t sound like the engine is revving as high as the tach says. I noticed the tach go past 3k and the engine sounds like it’s at about 2500 rpm. My Victory Vision sounds like it’s screaming at 3k. When you get to 2500 rpm it makes me want to shift. The Yamaha doesn’t sound stressed at all.

it didn't sound stressed, but I will say that rev limiter hits really quick with the torque. I didn't really like that, felt like I was having to shift to quickly.

I just got a 2018 Vaquero with 13k miles on it and i absolutely love it. Did the Ivans flash, cobra tri-ovals and got some 12" apes on and its perfect for me. The Ivans flash made it a totally different bike from it being smogged from factory. It is an amazing bike that by far beats Harley for pricing for a similar bagger. Nobody will ever convince me that paying 30k+ for a Harley is better than paying 16k for a brand new Vaquero with infinite the reliability

I am the same way about buying new. I have had over 100 motorcycles so far. I was a motorcycle mechanic, salesman, and you never know if you’d like a bike until you ride it for a while. Riding it up and down the street or around the block is not a test ride. So I would buy them if I could get them at a good price, sometimes, one time I bought a Kawasaki cruiser 800 cc, I kept that bike for 24 miles. I just could not sit in that position on my tailbone. I sold it in less than two weeks of ownership. And then I bought my first Venture used back in the 80s with 6000 miles on it from the original owner. My first really big bike. I kept that for 16 years, 138,000.miles.. when I sold it on eBay 16 years later, it actually sold for more than I paid for it 16 years earlier.. I am interested in this motorcycle in this video, but my local Yamaha dealer, before they went out of business …..but ,in 2018, the dealer said they were pre-order only. They were not gonna get one in to have on the showroom floor. So here in 2024, I still have never even seen the new V twin Yamaha ventures. When I went to look at The new Venture in 2018 when it was released, since the dealer didn’t have one and said he would not get one in until someone paid for it first. I went out and bought a Goldwing instead… what is the heat like coming off of the engine especially on the left side on this motorcycle. I saw a KZbin response to one of these Particular, Venture V twin videos, one guy said that he actually went to the hospital with blisters from the heat he was getting off of the exhaust pipe on the Venture the twin. Thanks for the video without music, without graphics, without making it a cartoon like so many videos on KZbin are turned into
@AnthonysWestTexasRides
@AnthonysWestTexasRides Ай бұрын
It is interesting it was pre-order only, because my local dealership had the Eluder and Venture on the showroom for and they weren't spoken for. I will admit the Eluder fit me like no other bike has in all the ones I have test rode or owned (not quite 100, but will over 50), including my current F6B. The short test ride I got to take on both bikes did let me realize that the rear cylinder and exhaust shield would cook your legs, more than anything I have ridden.

I currently have my third Yamaha Venture since 1986. Between Venture’s I tried a Goldwing, GL 1800, and a BMW K 1200 LT. But I kept returning to the Venture’s which I currently have one here in 2024. in 2018 I went to my local Yamaha dealer and asked to see the new Venture V twin. He told me they are pre-order only. I asked if one was coming in that someone had ordered so that I could at least see it. He said he doesn’t have an order for one right now. That was in 2018 when the Venture was released. here we are in 2024 halfway through in June. I have still never seen a Yamaha V-twin Venture in person. I’ve never even passed one on the highway the highway… I am approaching 800,000 miles of street riding alone experience. I’ve had dozens and dozens of motorcycles, sometimes as many as eight at the same time. I am a motorcycle enthusiast… I really don’t see the need for expensive cures for problems that don’t exist like stability, control, traction, control, or even ABS brakes, which I’ve had a bad experience with on my BMW. I had no breaks at all, nothing, going down a hill covered with Gravel and cinders. I had to run into a wire fence at the bottom of that hill to stop because I had no breaks, the ABS system detected loose road surface, and it would not give me anything. I sold that bike two weeks later. shortly after that, I had a Moto Guzzi Norge model that had ABS brakes with the difference. They could be turned off at the push of a button to revert to regular conventional breaks for those times when I’m on a loose surface like gravel or wet grass or even snow which I have been caught in snow quite a few times here in Western Pennsylvania, went commuting to work. One time I had to ride home on my motorcycle in 6 inches of snow. If that motorcycle had ABS brakes, I would not have made it out of the parking lot at work. unfortunately, before the Harley Davidson tariff of 1984 was imposed, raising the price of imported motorcycles, 45% overnight, causing more than 1100 Japanese dealerships to go out of business forever nationwide, I had 22 Japanese motorcycle dealerships within an hour of my home before the tariff was imposed here in 2024, there are only three surviving dealerships within an hour of my home. And that’s because they had been in business for years before the tariff, and they were family operated and they own the buildings they are in. .. so I don’t even have a Yamaha dealership anywhere near me to see one of these machines if the dealer would have one on his show room floor to see.. I am interested in the bike, but I don’t want all the electronic gizmos and gadgets to pay for. I never even turned the radio on on the five big touring machines I’ve owned since 1986. I never turned on the radio, the CB the cassette or CD player or the intercom. In fact, when I sold my Goldwing, I could not even demonstrate that the Soundsystem worked for the new owner. We had to go on KZbin to see how to turn it on because I didn’t know... Could you make the Yamaha Venture with a basic model to have things like cruise control?.. I don’t have any interest whatsoever in paying for all of those cures for problems that don’t exist..

Yamaha star venture or honda gold wing and why
@AnthonysWestTexasRides
@AnthonysWestTexasRides 3 ай бұрын
GW, not even a question now with the Yamaha not really gaining any traction and only being made for a couple years. The GW has way more manufacturer support and aftermarket options and groups to join. The wing is smoother, the footboards on the yamaha are nice and I will admit that I still felt more comfortable in tight parking lots turns on the yamaha. I would still go with Honda, which I did ('15 GW F6B deluxe).

Then I read the comments posted where some peoople were offended (as I was also), but you did explained yourself. Forgiven. NOW I see that you have been converted to what Goldwing riders really see in this bike. "Character" is defined in many ways, and the Goldwing has a special character all its own. Welcome! I've been riding a 79' KZ1000 ST mainly for the 17yrs I've been riding. 2 different bikes, the first one I bought for $400 w/unknown mileage, the 2nd w/18k orig mi on it. Also had a 79' GL1000 "Naked" Wing w.8k orig mi. I bought a 21' Vaquero last Spring that was a brand new "leftover" which is my first "bagger". As I'm only 5'7", my biggest issue is getting used to this style of bike. Otherwise, it rides & handles pretty good for a 900+lb bike IMO. I bought the factory passenger backrest & luggage rack (which has a lock release w/a key so you can remove it) & the power outlet, added an aftermarket windshield. They do offer a factory backrest for the rider, I've never had one, but now I'm toying w/the idea. I ran over my foot not being used to having hard bags, so yeah, it smarts. Sprained my damn foot for over a month. Thinking about getting the ECU flashed. Honestly, I bought it because it was almost 1/2 the price of a similar Indian or Harley that I could find.

Yeah, it was so smooth and I wasn't used to a 6th gear and the wind noise made it so I never realized I didn't put it into 6th. I really enjoyed the bike and it is the only bike that has ever felt like it was built just for me as far as fit was concerned. I just wonder about parts availability 5 yrs down the road. I believe they are discontinuing this model after this year. I really like the GW too, but my test ride wasn't long enough to worry about my butt hurting on the GW. I actually preferred it over the previous GW because I could feel a bit more of the wind which I prefer. I am curious about an F6B ('15-'16) since it looks the closest to the eluder and is a little lower than the GW.
