It's way more polished on in rainbows, i interpret this nude as the classical song about meaningless sex and objectification of women and blah blah blah, while the stuido version sounds like pure disappoinment and encountering reality, the shock between your ideas and what you really are.

This early version is very similar to the songs Radiohead took inspiration from to create this masterpiece. One song is Can You Mend a Broken Heart The other one is Maggot Brain

i love both versions so very much but god the way thom delivers the “you’ll go to hell for what your dirty mind is thinking” followed by the “what do you look like when you’re nude?” tears me apart man

Yeah the way he screams… I could be crazy but it feels like a continuation of the cathartic vocals of kurt. Feels like Radiohead took the torch of subversive rock music from nirvana. That’s how it feels for me. I understand that’s not the objective through-line of goadedness, but for me Jeff Buckley and kurt cobain turned into thom yorke… somehow

I think I've got a prrety good grasp on what the original song means (at least to me). Can anyone who thinks they know interpretion this verse let me know though?- Soulless reflection In the other person's eyes Death bed, first home Damaged good, subject Object none I would assume "Souless reflection in the other persons eyes" would either refer to surrounding yourself with people who have painted themselves white (are willfully blind to their true humanity and emotionational state) and filling themselves with noise (hedonistic distraction) OR it's about the cowardice of staying in a loveless relationship because the pain of leaving is worse than the pain of staying. I think it's far more likely to be the former though. Death bed, first home? Is this referring to being so damaged at a young age that your first home figuratively becomes a death bed for your dreams? Damaged good, subject, object none? Really struggling with this one. Sounds like someone shutting down into complete dissociation I guess?

Still a good song but if they had finalized it this way it would kind of just be another Radiohead song to me whereas the In Rainbows version is definitely more of a standout Radiohead song
