No rust neutralizer, no primer equals no paint adhesion. Looks good for now. Maybe quick sale??

For the STW style dash insert, there's also a different version, that only replaces the dash vent, the radio panel and the heater control panel. The guys over at @Grauslick recently made one by 3D scanning their dash, 3D printing a blank, making a mould from that blank and then making the part out of carbon fiber. But with the resolution of modern FDM 3D printers, a 3D printed piece with a decent texture wouldn't look out of place either.

BMW shifters always let down the transmission. I guess because they were still meant to be premium cars. A chassis mounted shortshifter improves them so much in a motorsport context. Even some daily drivers highly benefit from this. And I definitely agree, it's a must for a touring car inspired build, even if it would be just for cosmetic reasons. To be honest, so far I've only found one manual transmission that doesn't benefit much from a short shifter, and that's the 5-speed from a 1st gen Mazda MX-5/Miata/Roadster. One of many reasons why they're so fun to drive, even stock. (side note: this video did immediately get recommended on my home page, so I guess the algorithm figured it out after they ignored the last video.)

KZbin for some reason brought me here... Incredible times when a random a guy (petrolhead I admit), from South America can relate and felt so emotional and happy for some other nice guy, for something happened 2 years ago or so... Thank you so much for put so much effort and share with us this masterpiece (full of dream, desire, simplicity, passionate, down on earth video). The final scene when you put the cover was so simple, yet so powerful. Best from São Paulo, Brazil.... Almost forget, your car its amazing!

Thank you so very much for your nice comment! Time flies, this was indeed the summer of 2022. I have to admit that I watch the series myself from time to time, just because it's such a nice way to relive the memories. I'm happy that I get to share them with likeminded people, whether it's because they also love cars, or just want to be part of the journey. I am very glad to hear you enjoyed the video/series. Have a nice day kind sir!

Gorgeous slippery shape, saw its first outing at the 1968 BOAC 500, sadly its driveshaft failed, but the sound & look of this car will forever stay in my memory, i think they ran out of development funds, something about that period of racing that was super special.thanks for posting, incredible.

My algorithm decided I didn't need to see this video, despite watching every upload so far on the day it came out. Good you cleaned the transmission before it's going in, because it'd be an eyesore forever. Looking forward to the next installment.

@@Retroschaft I feel like the algorithm has been going through some changes the last couple months, again. That being said, Dec/Jan/Feb are notoriously slow months for even the biggest creators, so that factors into it too. Good to hear progress is still being made and I don't have to wait too long for another video.

Lancia narrow degree V4 & VW VR6 need to be remade by Nissan hopefully as the ultimate V6. Eg Parallel bores using ratchet sheared crank pin conrods like on V-twins will make the v6 no bigger than a straight 3, has unlimited applications, less parts, modular, better harmonics and durability.
