Hi! Yes, I use references because it helps me with details. I find images anywhere, anything that looks interesting. Images don't always have color like in drawings, finding and amplifying color contrast is my contribution.

Glad it was helpful! Procreate has a lot of unnecessary brushes, because it has to cover so many types of drawing. For artistic drawing I do best with 'Larapuna'. I tried making my own brushes but I didn't have the patience to understand all the settings.
