Yes I was thinking the same, the tone I noticed was also off. Some of my earlier stuff isn’t to the highest of quality, I am working to remake a lot of it, this song was apart of it.

@@qubeks6533 I Can’t really read sheet music, I can understand the very bare minimum but for me to convert these videos into sheet music would take me an eternity. It is possible though, there are other people I’ve spoken to who have turned my videos into sheet music.

@@wateormelon4400I listen to the version of this song from 1970 Live in Pittsburgh and it’s really clear. I would play along and I’m almost certain it’s Am and D like you were playing. I think it sounds better than Dm anyway.

@@jakesweigart7795 I was actually listening to that one because I am planning to cover that version as well I see what you mean about the minor, it is indeed unmistakable but the version I was covering here is a little tricky to see as the quality of the recording is not the best but sorry if it is indeed wrong.

I have to give you a heads up though, if you’re looking at the left hand of the piano part, some of the notes do not show on the video, this is because of the app I used for it, you can hear those notes but they don’t appear on the video. Same for the bass, there’s a couple notes that do not show but you can hear. I wish you good luck!

I did notice the notes not showing, but I was able to slow down the video, and stop often, and play over enough times to get the notes transcribed one at a time. Got most of it now into MuseScore Studio. The hardest part to discern is the organ (right hand), as the sounds tend to run together. Is it possible to play the series of piano 5 note arpeggios starting at 0:36 with only the right hand, as would be necessary since the left hand is tied up with the bass? Impossible for a beginner like me. But it must be done somehow as this bright series of melancholy chords must be played. Love Ray's style and you are bringing it!

@@michaelkopacz6324 I felt the same way, I thought there’s no way I’d match with the actual speed of the song. I think the key is to take it slow for a while then you’ll automatically be able to speed it up once you got the song down. Another thing is that Ray’s right and left hand were covering for two different instruments parts, so separating the hands is also key. But your love for the song should motivate you further.

@@wateormelon4400 ok on the Chorus Ray doesn't use the sharps on the E AND D chords those are omitted , the Figure on the E chord is usual Ray style these notes are used E b d high E only on the D chord he uses D g c high D

I did actually do Ship of Fools a whole ago. I just deleted because I wasn’t too fond on how the organ tone came out and I found that the playing could be a little more accurate. I redid that, Peace Frog, Blue Sunday, The Spy, and Land Ho all will be released next week.

@@theunknownwastaken8600 I played the part using the Red Animal app (for the Vox sound) and for the bass sound I used either the electric piano on Logic Pro or the electric piano on the Numa Player app (I can’t remember which one but either one works). Once I recorded the part I put both parts into the Pianoteq app to display the animations of the part and then I edited the whole thing together adding the isolated drums from the actual song.
