Those Rolls Royce Merlin engines sound SOOOOO good. It's what they ran in the Unlimited class hydroplanes from the 50s- the 70s. Might be a few left, but not many.

WOW !!!! 👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏
@dieterkarrer25352 ай бұрын
i think this was a very stupid acting from the pilot and the air-controller looks like the spit is olmost tailhavy and on the limit to stall, and crossing the airfield 90° this low when other airplanes landing ......this is never ever allowed, and all this on airshow with a mass of people. 👎👎👎👎👎

Here is an example of a professional " High jinks " apparently dangerous fly past, you do want to see. Plane flown by Ray Hanna.
@user-pq6dy5lv2q3 ай бұрын
Badly controlled, reckless, airfield control. You've got 'vague' spitfire flight path, who looks like he decides to BUZZ the airfield, ( looks like he didi it as an afterthought) just seconds, after the yellow plane comes into land !!! Reckless amateur, badly controlled airspace. Unless this is some coordinated - not very good stunt?? Want to see the planes under FULL CONTROL OF A FULLY COMPETENT PILOT, WHO MAY OCCASIONALLY GIVE THE ILLUSION OF ' DANGER, RECKLESSNESS, OR NEAR MISS '. The vague, last minute, partial commitment fly past , looks lame. The decisive, planned, full commitment, high speed fly past. Is good.

One point about the spitfire they could out turn a P-51. I love the P51. Mustang.
@kingcurry65943 ай бұрын
Yes. In a close in encounter, the P51 would be toast to a Spitfire. But that's not what the P51 was designed for. It was a long range bomber escort, designed to use its very high speed to pounce on enemy fighters which were attacking the bombers it was escorting. The Spitfire was originally a short range interceptor, designed to protect the UK's airspace from anything that came in, but from the mk9 onwards, it became far more versatile.
