After purchasing this rifle from you & then watching this video, i have now ordered some barracuda 8's 😆👍🏻 had some success with QYS streamlined and also H&N field trophys but it looks like it definitely loves those barracuda 8's, great video. 🙌🏻

@@rcontour definitely, much appreciated. The defiant is definitely marmite amongst the shooting community. But I bloody love it 👍🏻
@brynybach7741Күн бұрын
I think it's the rifle you have. Mine is not pellet fussy at all, and easily shoots every pellet you have on test, 10mm groups at 35 yards! I was a bit concerned watching you shoot, as it looked like the end of the barrel was in contact with the V rest? Any contact there will make a huge difference. Try resting the air cylinder in your hand instead of directly on the V rest.

Not withstanding the accuracy issues, from the offset, and before it was released to the public, 8 shouldered it at the BSS, was some years ago now, I said to my Mrs that this ( the defiant ) would be a sales flop for BSA, the competition at the time was bulpups like the FX WILDCAT, Brocock compato, bantam then after that the Dreamline Bullpup, not to mention descent rifles from Asia at quarter of the price, OK the build quality wasn't as good, but they were lighter, and just as accurate.. Yeah, the BSA Defiant, a flop ..

The .22 HW100bp are also 14 shot magazines. These are night and day compared to any Kral. I know of HW 100s that are range loan guns, that have had over a million pellets through them and only needed a fill port seal replacing. There’s very few guns that can match these, U gave Steyrs Anschutz Daystates Huben, Edguns and these match all of them 👍

Not sure what you class as a bullpup but neither of those are , also I sounded like the targets were pretty close so not really pushing any limits . The NP02 flyer was pellet or human error I found sanding down the pistol grip of the Kral made it not only more comfortable but slightly more consistent, I still find it difficult not to pick my HW100 up if I’m doing vermin control though
@rcontour4 күн бұрын
targets are 23 metres they may sound closer as to edit from 2 different cameras you match the sound bars. There classed as semi bullpup due to most of the gun is the cylinder hope this helps

@nigelcundey97106 күн бұрын
@@rcontour hi yes but without buying 200 pounds worth of pellets to find out what size and weight it likes i dont think its a bad gun for the money but all websites say fully adjustable external reg and hammer spring adustment for fine tuning .....after all it is just a rebadged for the uk market a air venturi avenger ...and you do say a couple of times it is regulated so there is a bit there for tuning ....... but no tuning at all and to be hounest under 11 ft lbs and no way of tuning it up to 11.5 or 11.6 or up to the max as long as its under 12 ft lbs or any way to find what pellet it likes....... as i say its not a bad gun for the money but my opinion would be to spend a bit more and buy an artemis /snowpeak rifle they are far better

Everyone will say it needs a carbon bottle, but carbon are much heavier than aluminium bottles and although will take 300 bar tge gun won’t. The stock looks like a banana, not very pleasing- a tactical skeleton stick would be better. Groups very well, not that well engineered though.

check your silencer for pellet clipping for your accuracy? i had that problem now sorted
@jamescarter10887 күн бұрын
Yeah put an oring to tighten the mod against👍🏻
@rich.dodd17 күн бұрын
Its not something an oring can fix unfortunately, the mk1 has a very soft metal should adaptor, this is so easily bent its not funny. After a OEM replacement, it bent again and again. Virtually every time I used the gun I had to tweak the silencer to bend it straight so it wasn't clipping. In the end I got a machine shop to make me a stainless robust version, never had an issue again. It had a really fussy barrel, after 18 different pellets finally found one that worked like a laser, all others were like a shot gun. I also put sound deadening on the inside of the stock, this made a big difference to the feel. Mine never recoiled like his, his doesn't seem right.
@jamescarter10887 күн бұрын
@@rich.dodd1 Oh, I have the M2 and found that the moderator works loose without an oring to hold it firm. I also find that the hammer being so loud in your ear can make you jump sometimes when it goes off, so I adjusted the trigger to make the second stage heavier and a more defined break. RWS do work well in it, but also foul the barrel up leading to flyers. Mine likes H&N best and I use 10.64 grain barracuda match which gives me better accuracy at 40 yards in the wind, but like he says this is a 30 yard pest controller rifle really as it's lightness and super pointability doesn't help it's long range accuracy, it's hard to hold still enough. It's a close range tool and excellent for that.

Interesting and informative video, what distance are you shooting? And I might make a suggestion ( not telling you what to do) why not take all 5 shots at once with each rifle, it would speed up video, and I think be more fair to both the shooter and the rifle IMO. Other than that kinda cool. Thanks for sharing!

Hi does the tyrant come in a Gas Ram form the XGP ?
@rich.dodd19 күн бұрын
The Walter reign is completely ambidextrous, those magazine's go in either way. They also only come with one from new. The issue with the mk1, it has a really soft adaptor that holds the shroud, I know this because mine spent more time clipping the silencer than shooting straight, I suspect why the mk2 doesn't have one. Don't think you can remove the shroud as it has a weird thread and the barrel isn't blued. I had to have a decent machine shop make a more robust version. Once this was done I'd fell out of love with it but it was a good gun in the end. Mine never kicked or creaked, maybe a few things are loose when they swapped the leaver over.

My mate did me a really good deal on a Tactical Lighting as my first air rifle. I have found it a great introduction to air rifles. After buying and Accumax in .177 which is a great little gun, the Lighting is still my first choice. It will be gun that I never sell. I've just picked a BSA Meteor series 5, great fun plinker, but for ratting, general shooting, it is always the Lighting first. Which like yours is a British made one.
