Final Fantasy 2, 3 and 5 were never localised for the US. So when 4 came out they released it as Final Fantasy 2, and when 6 was localised they released it as Final Fantasy 3. Any rereleases, remakes or remasters will use the correct name, so this only applies to the original SNES games.

Is this an actual recording of the game being played on the monitor or was it added to the monitor in the edit with scan lines effect? cause the light from the screen doesn't seem to be affecting anything on the edges of the monitor or desk. Cool video regardless tho good vibes

Black sheep of the series. Undeserved hate tbh. It is the soul calibur game with the most single player modes and branching story paths. It is the last old school soul calibur game before the series went gimmicky with critical finishers and reversal edge. There is no more single player soul calibur. Soul calibur 6 is basically just online mode with funny character creation. They just didn't put effort into the extremely short story mode at all for SC6. SCV is just a 10 minute 2D visual novel. SCIV was better but still short basic story mode. Yes, SCIII did drastically change pretty much ALL the moves from SCII so you had to re-learn almost everything. Tekken doesn't do that that drastically. So that was a bit weird. Yes, the balance was bad because it was rushed out for some reason (which made no sense because there was really no other 3D fighting game competitor being released in late 2005/early 2006. Perhaps Namco was tired of the development delay and wanted it out before ps3 was released? But ps3 was still almost a year off...) SC3 save data can randomly get corrupted. Terrible bug that happened to me and many others. Made me really think they were rushed to release this game in a buggy state. Everything was fixed though in the superior arcade cabinet version. Shame the PS2 never got that version, but there is a fan ported mod that's still WIP.

I think my biggest takeaway here is how bummed out I am that so many games are leaving in-depth single player experiences for online-only stuff :(

No CRT shader emulates the scan lines of this TV set well enough. As we can see here, as far as subjective picture quality is concerned, when in motion, you just do not see the scanlines: You see a solid picture in front of you.
@retroshowcase3 ай бұрын
That's right! At a distance you just don't see scanlines the way CRT shaders display them. I will say in order to reduce moire I have to unfocus the dslr a little.. which also causes a bit more color bleed so you it looks more solid. It is a limitation when recording without an optical low pass filter on a camera. However I just bought a new camera that should allow me to keep things sharp!

@retroshowcase4 ай бұрын
hahaha Yah! Normally what I do is use a solid color backdrop to not remove glare, but mask it as a backdrop. This works quite well actually. Alternatively, I will record a CRT in a lower light environment, mask it and use some color correction in post to touch up the background. I probably have 5 or 6 little tricks I employ to make it work!

set your frame rate 30 fps and shutter speed to 1/60s. or set frame rame to 60fps and 1/120s shutter speed. the screen refreshes at roughly 60hz. you should get very little to no scanlines. some phones can do that as well, check the video settings (framerate at x and shutter speed at 1/2x). good luck
