You probably already know this, but the Human bonus for farming is set when they plant in Drizzle, so during Clearance you could actually use your Humans elsewhere and let someone else harvest the crops.

Could play on settler specifically for speed, can do like 3 settler runs in the same amountnof years a viceroy run would take. Which allows you to go way further. The difficulty being variable is a mechanic in and of itself.
