When does an intake valve typically open? Think of valve overlap, typically the intake valve starts to open before the exhaust valve closes to assist with better airflow from the intake, sucking a very small amount out the exhaust, we call this scavaging for a few reasons, maybe to create a swirl in the cylinder or intake velocity, etc as different engineers create valve overlap for different reasons. It also appears that your intake valve is opening (at the very bottom of the vacuum pull) and closing late (way far to the right, maybe around the 100* mark instead of around the 60* mark) so both cams are out of time. Your exhaust reading is correct but please let your viewers know that a little miniature compression stroke can also be a clogged exhaust if the exhaust valve opening is in time. I wonder if the owner drives like they stole it every day? Wish you had many more videos coming Bro.

What training do you have about the LIN HEADER for each SLAVE on a LIN wire? The HEADER is the first few square waves of each packet that has its own signature for each LIN Component, many times when buying an Aftermarket Alternator that was improperly cross-referenced, the LIN Signature will be wrong and it will not work. ABOUT the first half dozen up to about 10 square waves will be the HEADER Signature, I like to show this fact on my scope and save it to my library. Sometimes there is more than one SLAVE on the line and that info can be used to find a root cause issue by one of the SLAVE Components for diagnosis. It also appeared that your scope resolution, or filtering, or some setting needed adjustment to clean up the pattern I was noticing, some form of Aliasing?? I just found your channel right now and this was a cool video, just needed to add in this suggestion for your future LIN collections, cheers. I will look to see what type of work you normally do and see if I will keep your channel in my very long daily listings of NON-DIY Channels, much appreciated.

I’m dealing with a similar issue currently except on a 2016 Malibu 1.5T. Have codes P06DA, P06DB. Replaced both solenoid valves with factory parts, codes came right back. Past that point I tested continuity on both wires from the solenoid to the harness connector to the pcm and found all to be within spec (no high resistance on either circuit). I’m dialing in on a faulty pcm, the faults always come back but sometimes it takes a minute or two for the codes to pop up and sometimes it’s immediately. Car was involved in a front end collision and came from a body shop as well so that’s no fun. Basically a can of worms lol

i finally managed to test the wires. one provides constant 12-13V voltage and the other color wire is dropping/fluctuating a little bit. i dont have a scope to see the signal mode. the engine check engine comes on all the time. if the issue with the shutter, how the actuator pins should react if i test the resistance between the pins of the actutator. want to make sure i should replace the actutator.

Hello, i have the same issue on my 18 Tahoe. I'm wondering, since it's such a common issue, has anyone figured out what exactly goes bad in the circuit? If it's just a resistor or capacitor, I'd rather just fix my grill instead of buying a new one that will do the same thing down the line.

How was the repair completed? Was the chain worn or something else? So by simply measuring the starter current without using a pressure transducer, it would be possible to confirm the problem in this one bank? Thank you

The shutter was replaced on my GMC but the code u1510 discussed in the video didn't go off. The electricians don't have software for my model and refuse to take over the issue. Probably the temperature sensor was not installed. I think I will deal with it myself. Would be nice to have a wire diagram or description of the wires.
