I used diluted liquid acrylics for better color saturation of my more muted palette and a spray bottle w settings of stream, mist and spit. And I used a slanted board on my picnic table (a brick or two to play w the slant). I tried different things, starting w mark making then working into to the drips and sploshes w various tools. Tried different papers too. GREAT FUN. And I got a lot that I’ll love using in collage and a few I think are really interesting as is. And some that inspired me for further explorations and directions. I’m trying inks next. It was all very freeing including be outside.

I’m new to art. I’m sixty one today! My father was a wonderful artist. He would enter drawings in the State fair and win blue and purple ribbons. Unfortunately, I come from a divorced home and my father did not teach his children how to draw. Too bad too bc he really was good at it. But now at the ripe old age of sixty one I’m trying my hand at it. I’m so new, I don’t even have an art journal! For shame! But after watching this I thought I will make my own art journal as I’ve gotten into junk journal making (in the last six months) so, I have lots of junk to make my art journal with. I enjoyed this video. It got me really interested in actually doing it!! Thanks my dear! ❤️💜💚

Your image transfers came out so well! I never got close to that good. Also it’s bugging me so much that I didn’t get the liquitex payne’s grey, i got a big tube of daler rowney which is such a poor colour, it’s really just a slightly faded black with none of the beautiful blue tones. Not buying any more from that brand, it’s cheaper but bad colours are the gift that keeps on disappointing 😅
@melindavanry
@melindavanry 3 күн бұрын
I've also used Liquitex Basics ivory black, which I'd also consider faded looking. The key is a very thin and even layer of paint if that helps. Image transfers can be finicky. But so satisfying when they work. I definitely had what some would call some beginner's luck when I started.

@@lindavance7964 Well, put down a thin textured layer. Loosen it up with an even thinner, super thin layer of a metallic or gloss medium. Then push down too hard with a scrubby sponge on the next colored layer. Let it all dry, then pull it with gloss medium. You'll get your own fun gorgeous product. Better yet, the process will be fun. It can never turn out exactly the same way twice.

Like you, my first effort wasn’t what I expected. My WC markers didn’t spread much at all. I tried it again using tempera sticks, which was better but still very different from yours. 🤷🏼‍♀️. I decided that was fine, anyway. I’m doing neurographic lines and then pattern fills within and between. I’m a recent follower, I very much enjoy your art prompts on Sundays and Wednesdays, which are, I’m sure, very time consuming to create. I think that makes your videos your artwork, too, yes? Your thoughts and voice are calming and comforting. Thank you for all you share with followers.
