The word legend can sometimes be thrown around way to loosely. That title fit the bill when it came to Charlie Robison though.

Yeah he does not look good here damnit but i agree 10 years ago he was never going to sing again, and to (no offense) look like this and still share your magic is awesome, but to me it looks like he's crying or almost crying like he knows he's about done 😢 he was definitely underrated in country music

Yeah; it is both beautiful and hard to see at the same time. Like you know the ride is coming to an end regardless of whether you want it to or not.

CR was such a huge part of my high school Playlists and I've never gave him up. His music can instantly take me fly back down a dirt road, 16, few beers, few dollars, couple quarters in case you need a payphone, with the entire world at my feet without a clue of what comes next! GO ON HOME EASY MY FRIEND, R.I.P

Sad to hear that he passed away today, 9/10/2023. Quick story about him. In February 2008 I was a 24 year old Army combat medic. Being a Texan I’ve listened to him for most of my life, so I was happy to find he was playing at Floores Country Store while I was on mid-tour leave. Naturally I went to the show. Toward the end of the show, I left the floor and went out back. He played his last song and said goodnight to the crowd, and made his way out the back toward where I was. I called out to him and he sort of waved me off; I just said “I don’t want to bother you. I’m home from Iraq on leave and I wanted to tell you how much your music helps to take me home on those bad days.” He stopped, walked over to me, proceeded to give me a hug and said “Thanks brother. Make it home safely, Okay.” That meant the world to me. I’m sure there’s a lot of stories like mine, but Charlie Robison and his music will always hit me a little differently when I hear it.
