I've watched your video a dozen times. I got my first drum kit. It's an old Alesis DM7x model. I hadn't really sat down and played a whole song. I usually try to play by ear but only end up doing intros and hit a wall. I have a hard time with the high hat and bass pedal coordination. I've watched other people's videos and yours is by far the best. I'd pay you money for zoom lessons. 😅

tried all the others and something was missing. Once you did it without the open hat and ghost strokes it started making sense. It felt unnatural at first but i could hear it forming in there until i got it. But thanx man. Gonna check out your Rosanna break down now.

In the chorus try two different crashes: right hand on 1st and 3rd measures, left hand on 2nd and 4th measures. If you listen to the isolated drum track you can really hear 2 different crashes alternating on the chorus. Such a fun song to rock out to!

By far the most accurate drum cover of Everlong ever made. Sounds like I’m listening to the studio version of the song.

This has the ghost note feel. All the other lessons are close but the timing between his ghost notes and the entry attack of the foot pedal just feels right

Great video but I will like to add that we don’t use the Clave when playing Cha- cha- cha ( you can do it ) but is very rare using the Clave in that rhythm Blessings to all

Great job ! 😊🎶 I learned this at M.I. (PIT) basically the same way you played it… but even back then I remember saying “if you want the video, he’s using two hands on the snare. I agree, that’s fine for the studio, but live we need to add a hi hat part. I’ve also messed with it playing off beat 8th notes with my left foot on the hi hats. Hey, while you’re there (watching that original video) notice the “upside down snare head with the massive hole cut in it”. Was that just for show (for the video) or an actual product for FAT snare and popping side stick sounds? Cheers
