Good gosh & What the heck - seems like you need a magnifying glass and a pair of spectacles to buy a bottle of shampoo, conditioner, hair products or any toiletries it seems. Who is gonna remember what not to buy while standing in the hair shop aisle wihile staff members peep round the corner or pretend to neating a shelf. What are your thoughts on natural black soap O bought it a couple of times while in Senefal , West Africa who knows when I'll go back. Thanks for this video and pronouncing those long ass words.

When I first came upon Mielle, and the line was getting the most hype from off of influencers and individuals that were celebrity friends. I chose to try out a few products, out of curiousity, even though I knew that the line was started by someone who had a medical background on the nursing field. But, I take full responsibility for choosing to give the few lines that I did buy from the line a try. I came to understand that the line is based off of “hype”. Also, there was nothing within the products that were very impressive overall. I only liked the Avocado Moisturizing Hair Milk that they offer, which is apart of their original collection of products initially launched. I am referring to the original version of that product only. But, I eventually moved on from the line, and didn’t have it on my radar to even care to buy products from the line anymore, until they launched their Sea Moss Collection. I chose to try a few other products from the line, hoping that I would actually be more impressed this 2nd time around. I bought their Rosemary Mint Styling Creme, Rosemary Mint Drops, reformulate version of their Avocado Hair Milk, and their Honey &’Ginger Edge Control again, after things with it going rancid after a short while W’s supposed to have been fully resolved. I will say, Mielle is not getting a 3rd chance from me. Not very impressed at all with the line. Doesn’t live up to the hype. The ones that honestly made this line super popular and misled others into believing that it is truly a line that will be absolutely life-changing for one’s natural hair are the ones celebrity friends and the paid influencers. I have walked completely away from entertaining these influencers promoting a whole bunch of stuff that isn’t needed. These people care more about their pockets and the free stuff and money they get from these brands and the attention and exposure, than the overall safety of the products that they are promoting to the public in general and not caring about the harmful side effects to one’s health that a lot of these hair care products have done and are still doing, Also the original name being Mielle Organics was something that I couldn’t understand how it was allowed to get away with on the 1st pls e, because one of the products are certified organic, and putting a level of herbal ingredients into a product doesn’t automatically make a product organic either. Truthfully is there a major difference with Mielle’s products that what was already out there on the market before their products started being sold to the masses? No. The same can be said about these celebrity hair care lines, because their no better as well. Oh, and complaints against Mielle had been rolling in before the owner of Mielle ever sold their company. However, it is up to all of us consumers to throughly research a product deeply before buying it. Because, one’s health is at stake. Either you choose to deeply value your health 1st and foremost or following these influencers and buying a ton of hair care products filled with toxic ingredients that should be avoided at all costs. Plus, it is up to consumers to gain professional expertise on how to best take care and manage both their hair and scalp’s environment in order for healthy hair growth to be achieved and successfully retained, so that one can see their hair thrive at it’s maximum potential. No one should ever put their everything into a hair care line, if you don’t know how to properly maimed your hair and scalp in the best way over overall. Much good luck to all on their healthy hair journeys! I sincerely mean that from the heart ❤️!

Deva curl is now in dollar stores 😂😂, I tried the trial years ago and it made my hair dry I didn’t even finish it all it went straight to the TRASH. I am not one to support black lines just because it says so. I do my research many of them also put up a facade to hook us in. I was never drawn to MIELLE, guess that was my spirit protecting me. I was making my own gel at one point. I have found a few great brands here in Canada (Canadian made) and will stick with them unless they change.

Not the dollar stores and select salons at the same time?!?!?!!! ‼️ I honestly can’t believe there are still “professionals” rocking with the brand but I’ll digress on that. I feel you on not automatically supporting because it’s black owned. I too have thrown many free gifted products straight in the trash 🗑️ because of the ingredients. I’m glad spirit lead you away from Mielle in the very beginning it was pretty good and then they slowly and quietly started changing ingredients and exposing their customers to health risks. Good non toxic gels are challenging to find so I do understand you making that yourself. I’m also focused on perfecting a few gel offerings so we have more to choose from that are actually nourishing instead of drying and provide good hold. Sticking to what you know works for you is best indeed all this product junkism only beneifts the brands when you consider most of the products are indeed filled with harmful junk. Thank you for watching & chiming in. While I do believe everyone is better off accepting their own natural hair I leave room for non damaging heat straightening to be in the mix. The problem for me when it comes to wearing straight hair is toxic chemical exposure via relaxers, Brazilian blowout type services or permanently damaging your natural hair with high heat abuse. When we start doing harm to ourselves for a hair style (or any reason) we really have to stop and look at that.

It’s so interesting how products work differently on people. I was loosing my hair due to health issues when I purchased this rosemary oil. Yes body chemistry is a very unique and varied thing. Which makes it automatically faulty for scientists to determine a generally recognized as safe dose that is accurate for everyone. I’m happy to hear you experienced no issues. I love and prefer all natural organic products but that Soybean oil in the Mielle oil for me is a no go because I know how contaminated inorganic US grown soy products are. I make my own products and don’t work with Soybean oil at all. May your hair continue to thrive!

Good you have shared the details about the other toxins because the product has changed again in the shampoo. I read the label while in the store and noticed that isopropyl myristate was listed as the first ingredient for the shampoo. This tells be they are no longer catering to our textured hair.

For a LONG time I thought my hair was coming out from my change in hair color and change in city as I was starting my masters program when she sold her company. So I am so grateful I couldn’t always afford them because lord knows how much hair I could have lost while being under so many other stressors. Lord have mercy. I want to sue so bad. Grateful that I am also a hair enthusiast and mostly prefer making my own products that I now will be selling soon, but this whole thing really shook me and made increase my focus on getting my line out. Success to me would be if only people in my city brought it. I’d still be good. I’m not selling to those corporate devils who don’t give a fuck about Black hair or Black people. So sorry for all the losses so many of us experienced from this. God Bless and cover us in this time and protect our health. Amen.

Mielle hasn’t been 💯 organic since at least 2019. That is when I stopped using it because it was causing extreme itching and dry roots. I noticed then that they had taken the “organic” moniker off their products and it was just “Mielle” that’s when I figured they either changed ingredients or sold the company. My hair thinned at the crow and I haven’t used it since.

Please be sure to help manage expectations with regards to potential compensation, if any, from a class action lawsuit which is often nominal. Cash refunds on the actual products regardless of how much was used or not may be more beneficial financially even while pursuing the class action with intent to hopefully bring greater awareness to and change in ingredients and practice at the brand's expense and not to be passed onto the consumers. And folk remember, our natural hair is not foreign or crazy complicated. KISS: Keep it simple sis. Be well.🕊

Should the ladies & gentlemen impacted move forward with the class action lawsuit their attorney does have a task at managing those expectations. Generally speaking no one gets rich in these types of cases for sure and unless the attorney is an experienced bull the damages fight may be sacrificed in favor of settling. I’ve been a part of a property related class action / mass tort lawsuit and my attorney got us dollars not coins! But he also kept it very real with me of the different ways it could go because of all the folks involved and our varying degrees of damage. Yes indeed our natural hair is easier than a lot of folks are making it. The more simple the regiment the better the hair thrives. Thank you for being here & blessing to you on your journey 💛

Thanks for helping to advance our community. 'Organics' was removed prior to the merger and the founder maintains there are no ingredient changes; hence, the alleged issues reflect on their brande and not P&G. No one is ever gonna care more about your health than you and even if they do they can’t make the positive choices and changes for you. Thanks for clarifying the Organics was removed prior to the acquisition. Now some folks have produced old label product that proves Ms. Thang was not truthful about the ingredients being the same… so the people have every right to be upset with her for that statement regardless of who’s ownership they changed on. 😉 I appreciate you being here and taking the time to comment 💛

Knowing all this of course presents unique challenges in the professional space when one aims to do the most good and least harm in their work. I’m happy to know you didn’t experience any issues as there has been confirmed revelations of ingredient and label changes despite the former owners recent public claims. Excellent choice to opt for another brand after seeing this because like ancestor Maya Angelou said “ when people show you who they are, believe them the first time.” These brands can use cleaner ingredients if they truly cared about our health more than their profit margins. They’d still make money just not as much. Blessings to you on your journey 💛

I have been seeing a lot on Mielle products causing issues. I can not wait for the Class Action Lawsuit to hit my email or mailbox because I will definitely sign up. Thank God I have only used the Rosemary Mint Serum drops like 3 times in a 3 year period, before the owners sold their companies to major corporation. Thankfully I did not suffer extreme hair loss, but still I want my cut!

I hope people keep their receipts to prove they've used Mielle. Never have I used Mielle Organics or Mielle products. I've maintained long hair since I stopped getting relaxers in 2006. I don't use products that are specifically designed for black hair. I don't trust them. No, ma'am. I'll take what THEY use - shampoo and conditioner without sulfates or parabens. That's it. Everything else is grape seed, olive, avocado or coconut oils. I also occasionally do a scalp treatment with rosemary leaves and cloves. I boil them together in a pot of water and spray it on my scalp after it cools and massage.

thanks for watching & chiming in! Truthfully less is better when it comes to our hair care and the more natural and harmful toxin free is top tier so you’ve got that right. Most consumers don’t understand these ingredients and what they can and can’t do so they fall for these marketing claims every single time.

I agree. I don’t like the idea that our hair strands are dead, just because they don’t contain “nerves”. Our hair is so important. The Bible speaks about it way too much for it not to be. I’ve been wanting to use all natural products on my hair and scalp, and I finally had a wash day that I did just that, with the exception of using beeswax to seal my ends. My hair looks great, but I think I’m going to lay off the essential oils, in light of the whole Mielle hair oil issues. I’ve been using rosemary oil in my DIY scalp oil, and my hair has been shedding as well. BUT my son is 13 months so some of this has been postpartum. I stopped using any oil on my scalp at this point, but I still use Shea butter and castor oil, which inevitably gets onto my scalp. It’s nerve wrecking when you’re trying to figure out what could be causing hair issues. But with prayer, observation and patience, we certainly can. 💕🌸

@@A_Wilson thank you for chiming in and congrats on your new bundle of joy. Yes indeed everything that grows is living including our hair. Now the Mielle debacle is very concerning and I have a video coming early next week detailing the ingredient, formulation and toxicology issues that account for what some are experiencing. Rosemary in proper concentration is very beneficial for hair growth and other health benefits BUT like all chemical compounds even natural ones it must be used in proper diluted concentrations in essential oil form. All I use in my products are essential oils and the only products I buy contain essential oils because I know their overall benefits for the body systems in addition to aromatic and hair care. Being that you’re post partum your shedding is most likely due to that if you know your concentrations of rosemary oil are within recommended formulation parameters. If you’re not sure do avoid it until your hormones have stabilized and consider maybe making a tea of rosemary, clove, cinnamon stick and mint to drink or use as a scalp and hair tonic. Fresh or dried herbs are much less potent than the essential oils and just as beneficial overall. Blessings to you on your journey & thank you for being here! 💛

@simplyandoime7344 Thanks. I’m still trying to consider and ponder the idea that our hair is an extension of our nervous system. I certainly like the idea! So What is really going on when we relax, flat iron or even cut our hair? How is that affecting us? I know how I feel about cutting my hair after desiring long hair and working so hard to maintain it and keep it healthy 😅. But beyond that, I don’t know.
