That was really amazing, thanks very much for sharing! It would be nice to see a longer tutorial on these techniques, including post effects in Photoshop (after you finalise the main image) perhaps combined with a full model build.

I have an M41 and I have a hard enough time painting the vision port with one coat, let alone 5-6 coats of varying tones. Good grief. Those vision ports are only 6mm wide x 3mm high.

Simple and effective. I will give it a try! Is the wash enamel or acrylic?
@Dutchguymakesmodels
@Dutchguymakesmodels Жыл бұрын
Good luck! The wash is enamel. you can also use acrylic just fine but it dries up allot faster and removing it is harder! enamel or oilbased washes are more forgiving.

Hey there man. I am a new model builder and I have built only one model which is the Tamiya Korean War Easy Eight. I want to know what you use for blackwashing and if I can make some blackwash with some black acliryc paint. Thanks in advance. Oh and if you are thinking why I asked this question on this video it is because this is your most recent video and you would have a greater chance of replying. P.S I am building the Type 10 next.
@Dutchguymakesmodels
@Dutchguymakesmodels Жыл бұрын
Hi there! im sorry i missed your comment before. Have you started on the type 10 already? You can make a black wash with any type of paint. aslong as you thin it out with the correct medium! in your case with acrylic its easy since its water! however keep in mind that when acrylic washes dry they are harder to remove then enamel or oilbased washes. so do your wash in sections and clean them up within a few minutes after applying. Goodluck!

@@Dutchguymakesmodels Thanks homie. Appreciate your help. Now I can add that extra detail to Easy Eight. And no I have not started on the Type 10 yet. I will be getting the kit sometime in October because in India (yep I say Alteregoofputin but I am an Indian) you can't really get models cause nobody sells them. So I ask my uncle who lives in the UK to get me one as a birthday present and he will be coming to India in October and you know the rest. Anyway thanks again.

Amazing videos, I found you a little while ago and have been going through your videos. Can I ask if you thin any of the mig Ammo paint or model air or any flow improver and what needle and psi you use. It would really help me out to get the hang of airbrushing and finding a starting point. Thank you. Again, amazing video and awesome builder!
@Dutchguymakesmodels
@Dutchguymakesmodels Жыл бұрын
Thanks steven! I only thin my paints if they have a hard time flowing through the airbrush on a first try spray. The model air is pre thinned and is a great starting paint for your first airbrush work. Psi usage varies, i tend to use pretty high pressure in general but what i would recommend is just switching on your compressor and starting with a low psi to then keep building up pressure and see how the paint flows. Dont get bogged down with technical stuff and testspray and tweak the pressure dyle until your happy! Using the airbrush for basic painting really isnt as scary as some video's or people make it out to be in my opinion 😇 Happy painting!

Awesome video, I have a finished Tamiya Tiger I glued but wasn't able to paint it. I tried airbrushing primer and that wouldn't stick no matter what I tried. Are you spraying in a well ventilated room with a mask protection? I tried a spray booth with ventilation and even with that it was a bit worrying how much aerosol was left.
@Dutchguymakesmodels
@Dutchguymakesmodels Жыл бұрын
Hi, safety while spraying is very important! i dont use a spray booth but i do have a well ventilated room with a fan pointed straight at my desk when painting. i also wear a mask! i mostly use acrylic paints though and any varnish i use is sprayed outside! As for the paint not sticking this might be casting residue on the plastic of your model. it might be worth a try to clean your model with soapy water and try again! Thanks for watching!
@bogtato
@bogtato Жыл бұрын
@@Dutchguymakesmodels awesome, thanks for the recommendation, I will also try your paints to see if maybe that is the issue. Before spraying do you use any thinner mixed with the paint?
@Dutchguymakesmodels
@Dutchguymakesmodels Жыл бұрын
@@bogtato a bit of thinner is never a bad idea. however i have gotten these to work just fine straight out of the pot. but i would recommend using a drop of thinner anyway!
