That's not true. What you have to remember is that the FTC can't pass laws; they can only clarify existing ones. So, what the FTC just did was clarify that AI dialers are considered autodialers and robocallers, and they cannot call leads without consent. This means if you have the lead's consent, you are allowed to call them. It's the same with cold calling as a human; it is illegal to cold call if you don’t have the lead's consent. But if you do, you are allowed to call them. Again, I am talking about B2C because B2B laws are a bit different. Don't take my word for it; go read the new FTC regulation that they wrote. And don't only read news titles.

Yeah, you can't be on a trial account of Twilio to be able to connect VAPI. You will need to pay for a number to be able to connect Twilio to VAPI, which shouldn't be a big deal.

No, the representatives could be trained for other tasks. Every time there is a technological advancement, people will always have to adapt. Now, I agree it's going to suck, but they will have to adapt. And front desk reps at medical clinics wouldn't be taken over by AI for a while because they also provide the human element in the office when you're checking in and checking out.

No, I know how much call centers cost, and they can get pretty pricey. I had a client who was spending $30,000 a month on a call center to call all of his leads. The worst part was that he would pay the call center to train an employee, and then the employee would leave for another call center because they got paid a bit better. Now, my client doesn’t worry about any of that and only spends $5,000 a month for the AI to call all of his leads and respond to all of the incoming calls.
