I know this is an old video but there aren't many videos (I searched) on loquats outside of Florida or Arizona, etc... This same winter, December 2022, killed my loquat either to the ground or almost to the ground in my zone 7B Tennessee. It got down to about 3-5'F. It's doing good now, they are fast growers and it's about 6' tall now. In fact I just did a video yesterday on my channel. Does yours ever fruit? Thanks.

Clemson bags didn’t work for me . Only a spray program and surround Wp helped me this year . Save your seeds replant them may end up with a brand new variety. You can name after yourself .

Surround Wp is a game changer !

Good thing they continue to ripen off the tree . I lost battles with the plum curculio 4 years that and fungus finally found the surround wp and so glad I can mix fungicide and insecticide with it ! It’s a game changer.

Definitely worked for me. Hopefully you have the same luck with surround ✌️. I lost so much in prior years to disease and insects that I had to do something

Hello, I just found your channel. I have a peach tree that just started to produce peaches. I'm so happy, but I'm concerned that the peaches might not mature . Should I or shouldn't I start plucking some of the peaches off the tree? I hear some people say take off some of your peaches to maximize the growth. What do you suggest? It hurts my heart to have to remove some of the peaches.

That sucks. You might have to try one of the American persimmons or the hybrid persimmons like Nikita's gift, I heard that they are better for colder regions. I don't know if any of them are nonastringent though
@abdulshahid64124 ай бұрын
i agree with you ,no real maintance for persimmons,tried growing peaches for years,took them out now have almost " 50 " persimmon trees, around 200 fruit trees on 1 acre of land, love the persimmons

Peach BBQ sauce, Peach and hot pepper sauce, Peach butter with brown sugar etc How old is your tree? Considering you have so many, they are a great size! Most people would only get tiny peaches leaving that many on.

How do you protect them from the oriental moth ? This is my 1st year that my peach tree will give me peaches and i just discovered a tiny hole on them with zap coming out. Do you spray or what do you do to yours?
@getupgrow99024 ай бұрын
I sprayed with bonide fruit tree spray and Surround WP. Otherwise the bugs would decimate my crop like they did the year before
@mgarciber14 ай бұрын
@@getupgrow9902 wow I had no idea , thanks for the headsup. Do you think it's too late for me to spray it? I just discovered this yesterday. I live in zone 8a. Greenville, SC. My peach tree bloomed in late February beginning of March. The fruit started to form sometime during mid March. Today I went to look at all my peaches to se what I can rescue. 70% are untouched by the bite, but around 30% have that sting bite hole. I'm trying to save the other 70%. I bought organza bags today and arrive tomorrow to try to cover them up with that. I'm not sure how many peaches it has maybe 70-80 total. I can buy the insecticide you mentioned, but have read I was suppose to do that as soon as the flower drops and as soon as the buds come out. I have a question about the ones that don't have the hole. Can those be rescued or is the eggs already inside them? Or are the eggs only inside the ones that have the hole? Something similar happened to all my melons last year. I lost all my crop except 1. I lost like 30 melons. They were as big as a coconut when I saw them with a hole and some clear white zap coming out of it. I was able to save one with an organza bag and that one was able to come to maturity. It had like 160 , but I thinned them like a month ago to half the amount.
