Slicing them lengthwise seems to be a lot easier than cutting round ones, and may be easier to eat. :)
@rlnwht2 ай бұрын
Hello there Sweet Val!! I do cut them into rounds using a cookie cutter, then add a radish slice on top of the cucumber, but find that wastes quite a bit of bread. So, it does depend on what kind of sandwich I'm making!

That's a good question! Probably good as the egg salad has quite a bit of moisture in it, or you could also spread softened cream cheese to help that issue out!

It looks delicious! Why do you put a damp paper towel over it?
@rlnwht2 ай бұрын
It so is!! Great question!! If you are wanting to make these well ahead of guests coming, say an hour or so, they need to go back in the fridge. The damp paper towel will just help the bread not get stale, hard and not soft. Just something I learned a long time ago from my Grandma! But only if there isn't any decoration on the top. Then I put tooth picks in the sandwiches and plastic wrap over the top. I have a video coming up that describes that!

Oh my goodness, Gina! Stephen and I have been sugar free since 2018. I have figured out alternate sugar substitutes for most of what we crave, but I have really been missing cream cheese frosting. It looks like this Devonshire Cream just might do the trick! ❤ Thank you, dear cousin! 🥰
@rlnwht2 ай бұрын
Hello dear cousin!! Isn't sugar free fabulous! Greg went carnivore January of this year and I followed in February. So, on rare occasions I partake of tea foods if they are really good, but even when I don't, I make the recipes so that I can enjoy them by substituting a few things!

İ own a similar retouch desk. Yours was made by Rochester Optical Company, which was bought by Kodak c. 1920, I think. These were also used with Peerless Watercolors to tint photos. Peerless still exists. They sell the same color set of dyes. These go with my large format camera. I shoot film and print hand coated Victorian photo processes. Unlike modern prints, gold, platinum and similar processes are archival.

Do you seal the paper? I do pencil and done charcoal drawing. When I’m done I seal it with a fixative spray made for that purpose. Could I use that on this paper?

I have one in its original box with a full bottle of the antique medicine that was to be used with it. Since cresolic acid is extremely stable the medicine is just as potent now as it was the day it was bottled and corked maybe a century or more ago. The cresolene liquid is extremely pungent as well as extremely irritating. A drop of it on the skin will cause burning and the skin will turn red. God forbid if someone accidentally splashed this stuff in their face and eyes or, if a child ingested it. Vaporized in the air it could only serve to irritate the throat, nose and lungs as well as possibly induce phenol poisoning. Accidentally spill it on anything and good luck getting rid of its phenolic antiseptic-like odour. Its no wonder why this is no longer sold. Still, the vaporizer is a thing of antique beauty sitting next to its original box with a near full antique bottle of cresolene sitting beside it. A throwback to the early days of medicine, germ theory and proposed cures.

It came out lovely! It took me a week to put a couple ornaments on ours every few days but it still was beautiful. It doesn't take much to show its beauty, does it? I have a small tabletop feather tree, and its fun to put tiny ornaments onto it.
