You need to buy the right food for him and also read if you have to wipe his butt with a damp cotton ball to get him to poop, with some birds you have to do that or they won't go. I've never raised a duckling, just chicks and baby robins.

Exactly....he needs poultry food ( chick starter) from the supply store or he is not going to make it....he will slowly fade away.....go to sleep and not wake up! I have had plenty of ducks over the years.

I would love to keep him but I live in an apartment. I’d love to have a farm to raise and help needy animals, kinda like a animal sanctuary.

Give him sunflower seeds. Thank you for your rescue ❤. Never give them bread or crumbs or cheerios. There’s no nutritional benefit… it just makes them think and feel like they’re falling. They won’t eat the nutritional food and it doesn’t give them any value there’s a video I saw on this and I forget all the other things you can give them, but I know some seeds are that much better. I’m sure you can get birth, but I can look it up for you and post it when I find it, look it up and post something scientific nutritional value and background in research

Yes, we bought these rats when they were babies at a pet shop. What a dilemma! I had a small mouse in my house one time who crept in. It was actually in my gas stove, when you lift the top. But somehow I couldn’t lift this top. It was a rental, so maybe I just didn’t know how to lift it. I took one of my kids toy house. I put a trail of cheese leading to the inside of the house, and the mouse went in while eating away the treats. I took the house with mouse inside and released it outside to a grassy area. I hope that idea can help. Hopefully there’s not a kitty in your house.

I am sorry, but I had a rat that looked just like that one, its tumour was one third that size, and she passed away in surgery. I had to let a friend take her to the vet appointment because I couldn’t get off work. I had said get the vet to phone me, to discuss, if he thinks surgery is needed, because I would discuss her chances of living through surgery, or could she have a few more good months before she passes. The vet chose not to call me, started surgery, and she passed away on the table. I was so upset. I did NOT pay the vet!

I’m sorry about your pet rat. I know the chances of Millie surviving can only be a miracle. But we have high hopes that God can do the impossible. It’s scary but again I’m hopeful.

Are they rats??? I have a baby mouse came into my home, now she is hiding. I left her food and water at night. She is eating it but it's hard to trap her and release her (give up). I am hope she will grown bigger and have the courage to run outside through the hole on my screen door.

Why did you wait so long to treat it? That’s horrible. If you don’t have money, it’s kinder to give it away to someone that can give it a better life.

It would have been easier to get the tumour removed when it was smaller. They might not be able to operate it now.

I agree, the rat was bought by my daughter in a pet shop but I took over once I saw the tumor getting bigger. It was my daughter’s idea for the go fund me. I didn’t know how that worked or if it was real. These are rough lessons learned believe me. I believe God can do the impossible though. We’ll just have to wait and hopefully not too long and see.

Believe me I would if I could’ve. I never thought something so small would steal a piece of my heart. I’ve cried many times since. I still haven’t taken down the cage. Every time I decide to do it, I can’t find myself to. Yesterday morning when I woke up and saw the cage, I felt an instant sadness. And when I’m in other parts of the apt I hear him sing. I’ll have to get my daughter to take it apart or put it away. I can’t do it.
