No shell island is open soon closes down for winter that’s all, but you need to book these days on the website and early as it fills up quickly for the year. Lovely place though, magical sunsets, however when the wind gets up and storms it’s really goes to town on people tents etc. but we love it there

Yeah we love being that way so many little ducks and dives to stay at and all it costs us is fuel really and a little bit of food we love it

I love the look of snow but have to be honest I don’t like walking in snow and ice. But it always used to snow in March yrs ago. We’ve just been so busy with other things that have taken over not being able to camp like we do or we’d be camping every other weekend regardless of of weather, just love being out good for the soul

@IRELANDANDBEYOND33 yes this weather been a little weird of late, we’ve not done half what we normally do this year yet not weather related just life been so hectic. Hoping to get back on with it before too much longer. Happy travels when u get out well keep an eye out on your channel and keep in touch :)

To be fair all the times I’ve been up there and it’s many times not once have I seen or heard a trail bike through the day so I’ve obviously been lucky but saying that there are tracks from bikes but also to be expected but unfortunately still not camped but will try again soon

@@TalesOfTykie It certainly has great views and the old quarry walls give some protection from the wind from some directions. I also drove very slowly at the top because some of the rock fragments can be quite sharp.

@BritFarAbroad absolutely there are some wonderful walks and views here it’s our go to place if we wish to stay local.
