I have yet to play Mirage, so I might change my stance on this at some point, but I don't know if I see Basim/Loki as someone with malicious intent. At first, I thought maybe they were setting him up as someone who would need to be taken down like Juno, but so far it genuinely feels like he's Odin's victim. In the Eivor-Odin flashbacks it seems justified that Odin received prophecy that a "wolf" would be his doom, whatever form the "wolf" took IRL I can't say, but it ended with Odin slaughtering (or otherwise disabling) Loki's son for nothing more than a theory of what the future would bring. We know that Odin v. Fenrir wouldn't have a substantive impact on the Mass Coronal Ejection, so it was really Odin's paranoia getting the better of him, which isn't that strange when the entire point of his pre-Ragnarok quests are basically searching for the cure for death. Loki got his "revenge," so-to-speak, on Eivor, which is why his focus at the end of Valhalla is bringing his family back together, however that'll end up working out. It's less that he feels like he still needs to get revenge, he's the one who survived while Odin's reincarnated vessel died a millennia ago. I would really like to see future modern day storylines have us play as Loki and explore his quest in more detail.

So, from reading comments here, it sounds like this has tied up all the loose ends from the meta story... Fingers crossed this means they can drop all the simulation crap now and just make the games 100% historical stabbing without any of the present day bullshit dragging us out of the immersion.

what is the lore of assassin's Creed Valhalla? I ponder as ,..I just threw it in the garbage, loaded with gay and lesbian vikings? they even had a part that says a female wolf was going home to it's husband,..or maybe wife? suggesting there's lesbian wolves? I like all the haters saying things like, Valhalla reskin, it's the same and the last 3 games etc. The last 3 games have been more popular than the games before. Assassin's creed isn't returning to the original Assassin's creed so stop whining. As someone who enjoyed almost all Assassin's creed games. I'm very excited to play this one next month.
