@sjh9781, on the other hand a ref is supposed to protect fighters from getting too much damage. But in this fight with all the back and forth, which one do you protect? You can’t call the fight off altogether!

It sucked to see the gold digger get all of his earned money, but early departure might have been the best possible outcome for Arturo Gatti. There was no way for him to have high quality of life after all of the bashings that he took. The kids were too young to fully realize what happened. They didn’t need to see what possibly was one of the worst cases of CTE ever, progressively destroy their father. Some stars were never meant to grow old, and fade out over time. Arturo Gatti was not going to enjoy retirement. Rest In Peace, you savage warrior. You always left it all in the ring
