I was there in Section S, in the rain, cold, soaked to the bone, and miserable. For what seemed like an eternity the Arkansas fans, in OUR house, were chanting "SU-EE! SU-EE! SU-EE!" non-stop. It was crazy. Then, for some insane reason, Stoerner stumbled and just set the ball down on the field, right in front of where we were sitting, and Billy Ratliff jumped on it. We were numb, inside and out, and couldn't process it at first, then the whole stadium erupted. Instantly every UT fan in Neyland stadium forgot about being cold and wet, we were going to win, and we knew it. What a moment, what a season!

Of the modern era. Gene McEver's KO return vs Bama should be on any list of all-time UT plays. There is video of that run online.

No way #1 should be a mistake by an opponent..we got lucky. Jeff Powell's 60 yard run in Sugar Bowl should be in top 5; Hail mary is no doubt the #1 play.

The thumping they gave Miami in 86 oughta be on the list. We were huge underdogs in that game.

It was so wonderful to hear John Ward AND Bill Anderson. I grew up in the 1970s as a kid when every game wasn't on tv and we listened to The Vol Radio Network. Still do in fact.

Good set of plays, though they're only from 1991 onward. Still, glad to see Jeremy Lincoln block the kick with his butt. Tennessee came back from 31-7 at South Bend to win that game.

This is a top 10 moments list, not top 10 plays and even then it's a bad list. The only 3 plays on here that are top 10 was the peerless price td against fsu, dobbs hail mary, and the stoerner fumble. And everything on here is 90's and beyond. There's definitely plays for before the 90's that would be on a top 10 list.

As a 20 year old TN fan I would have to say that the kick to beat bama in 2022 was the greatest I’ve ever seen. I didn’t see the Hail Mary against UG because I had just left the room, but ran back in when my sister started losing her mind 😂.

Dude, not even close. The only play on this list I would take as a top ten is Notre Dame. I might get argument about the Arkansas game. But doesn’t make my list because it was just dumb luck that Stoerner fumbled the ball. ALL of my list would come pre-Kessling

My family and I were at the Tennessee Arkansas game in '98. We decided to leave when TN was down 21 - 3, thinking there's NO way they'll come back. We were outside of Neyland heading back to our car when we heard the crowd roar, beginning TN's comeback. Listened to the comeback on the radio. Biggest mistake ever leaving that game. Shoutout to Tee Martin for giving TN something Peyton couldn't, a National Championship.

It may not be deserving of this list, but casey clausens hail mary against florida deserves honorable mention. That play turned that game around and resulted in a rare Gainesville win. Not to mention a super rare double digit win against florida

There are so many problems with this list. First, nothing from the Bob Neyland era. Second, no Condredge Holloway plays. Third, none of Willie Gault's kickoff returns. And Fourth, nothing from the 1986 Sugar Bowl. And fifth, nothing from the game in 1959 when the Vols stopped Billy Cannon and LSU

I was at the Florida game & almost left when Wilhoit missed the extra point! I would’ve still been kicking myself to this day if I’d missed that! While I’m thinking of it, another play should’ve made this list in the greatest UT comeback ever at Notre Dame….ill never forget it because it started the rally, I think right before the half, when Floyd Miley picked up the blocked kick & ran it almost the length of the field for a TD! I was only about 12 & remember that play & the name Floyd Miley to this day because that play was the turning point in the game that shifted the momentum! If that ball isn’t blocked & ran back, the Miracle at South Bend most likely never happens! And while I’m rolling, when Clint Steorner, i know that’s probably spelled wrong, but when Clint took the snap & booted that ball to us & the Vols end up winning a game that was over for the second time in the same season is when everyone with orange blood in their veins knew we would win it all! The other game was the very first one against Donovan McNabb’s Syracuse! They had the game won, but a stupid & sincerely appreciated pass interference put us in field goal range! Jeff Hall was money as long as the blocking held. If I had only used my brain for things besides remembering every big play made in my lifetime in Volunteer football & remembering every iconic line in every movie & tv show I’ve ever seen, I probably would’ve been a straight A student instead of another “just enough to get by” high school football player! Hindsight truly is 20/20

Watching this makes me feel better after just now witnessing Bama run a QB sneak on 4th and 3 from the goal line to lose in overtime
@omgaclownmonkey112211 ай бұрын
Wasn't really a QB sneak, was a designed run, but the right tackle got pushed back 3-4 yards and Milroe tripped on his leg before he could cut left around the center.
