She was born in Lipno. They are making a statue of here in a center of the town. A local artist (also from Lipno) Zdzisław Ostrowski will carv a full size wood statue of Pola as a temple, than another guy for Southern Poland will copy that and create a bronze or brass casting.

Pola Negri (Barbara Apolonia Chałupec, 1897-18987) was an Polish and American actress

She was lovely. Rudy was crazy about her. Even though Pola was with Rudy. She destroyed his love for her. She played with him using him. She had said that Rudy was the love of her life. She did him wrong. She died at age 90 in 1987. Rudy did not have a long life so sad that he didn't. A few of her movies are lost such a shame

Love the teaser, I did find some inaccuracies with dates, and who was with who and when. Hoping the inaccuracies will be corrected.

Beautiful Pola singing in ‘Mazurka’ (1935). It’s a shame Paramount didn’t preserve more of her films she made there. I love her early films including ‘Bestia’ (1917) ‘The Eyes of the Mummy’ (1918) ‘Der Gelbe Schein’ (The Yellow Ticket -1918) ‘Madame Du Barry’ (1919) ‘Sumurun’ (1920) ‘A Woman of the World’ (1925) and ‘Hotel Imperial’ (1927). But my favorites are ‘Sappho Mad Love’ (1921) and her role as “Rischka” In the fun comedy ‘The Wildcat’ (1921)! I would love to watch Pola’s recently restored film ‘Mania’ (1918) which is shown at special screenings around the world!❤️🌹🌹💕

The background music for this is too loud unless you are fluent in Polish & the subtitles are too tiny, unless you have 20/20 vision. This has all the makings of a great film plot, Blindly Seeking Pola! Starring Princess Melita Bonaparte as Pola Negri...

2:50 Jeanine Basinger, historian, goofs bigtime. When "The Sheik" starring Valentino premiered in 1921, Pola wasn't/couldn't be with him as she hadn't yet immigrated to America, which she would in 1923. She couldn't be talking about Pola on the arm of Valentino at "Son of the Sheik" as that film was released after Valentino died. Lastly, Grauman's Chinese Theater was completed in 1927, it didn't exist in 1921.
