I have 4000 miles on my Triumph 400x in just over 3 1/2 months on metzeler karoo 3 tires and not much sign of wear. I am riding 110 miles per day commuting here in New Mexico with 20 of that on gravel/hard pack, which they are not very good on. A lot of drifting, both front and rear, so hoping the karoo 4 solves that issue. The 3's are good on tarmac but poor on the rockier off road for sure. Being a lighter bike at about 390 lbs, the wear is less than the mid weights, but I do quite hard on/off road. So thinking about what's next. Motoz tractionator adv or Dunlop trail max or even shinko 804/805's. Any suggestions?

WOW that was some bike history. Very entertaining and interesting. I haven't the patience or resilience for long bike tours mainly because I hate carrying too much luggage on a bike. I trailer the bike with my Landcruiser for the longer trips and ride around when I feel like it. Still I now have 10,150 km up on my 2021 S1000RR m package which is my most used bike and considering I have 6 and some classic cars is a lot. Dealer has been nagging me to upgrade to the new one and when I asked about it a few days ago they said BMW are not taking anymore orders for the current S1000 as it seems an all new model is about to be released for 2025.

Great video. Shame you didn't include any shots of the climb onto the golf links at Rhyder (10:14). How was the lane with the ford ? (13:40) heard reports that it's badly erroded after all the rain. Does the route include any of the trails around Nant Y Moch ? if not it's well worht a vist.

Two mates and I have just done the ACT UK but we started in Whitby and headed to wales! Two of us were on T7 World Raids and one on KTM 890R, we did go to IOM too, and I’ve got say that if you get the chance to do the trails over there I highly recommend you go! They were epic! It’s an incredible route that ACT have put together. Some of the trails were really washed out which made it particularly challenging at times. Well worth doing! 👌

Thing about it too, is even riding sections or bits or maneuvers that you can do in your sleep, there in that environment combined with being carefully scrutinized and / or timed, can put your mind in a whole new space. As in most, more "professional" sports we all watch, the mental game is more important than the physical. Yes, of course we must perform, but our minds can work for us or against us... real mental discipline is shown in such events. Thank you for sharing, a mate and I are practicing for the next Challenge, as we just missed them here in the US.

For sure the mental game is so important and put so much pressure on myself to perform well. Glad you enjoyed the video.

What are they like in mud compared to other similar tyres you have used? Thanks.
@EpicMotorcycleAdventures10 ай бұрын
They can get a bit overwhelmed in deep mud, but if you can keep the bike moving forwards it helps to clear the tread blocks. It’s the same with the Anakee Wilds that I’ve got fitted at the moment.

Perhaps those people who you are unwilling to listen to are simply telling the truth. The track you were riding down at the start of your moan was fine for a GS but it would have been so much more fun on something lighter, more manageable and agile. You could drive your Mercedes truck on a racetrack but that doesn’t mean it’s suitable for that environment. I also need to respond to your, perhaps they’re jealous (sic) comment. Really? You believe that? Get real. Perhaps they are more interested in ability over pose value.

Too be fair, you didn't achieve anything with this video, to rate a set of tire like this you need to run then on tarmac and dirt, forget the hard gravel, all tires are ok with that. I watched this because im looking for a new set of tires, all i managed was to waste 15 minutes of my life
