Wow this is really good! The pumpkins look real and they are made from old socks. Really very cute and cool!

Our towels are so plain here in America. I have only seen stripes or very rarely images that are screen printed on the fabric. Vietnam seems to have much nicer fabric. You have some good things there. I know everyone thinks America is the best but I think that it’s not really as true as a lot of people think. I would like to see your country some day.

My mother’s sister used to make her own clothes and she made beautiful dresses that were better quality than people could buy in the stores. This was in the 1950s and 1960s. It used to be something that women just did, and men would make things out of wood and metal and be able to fix their own cars. Today here in America there’s really maybe 1 in 100 women who know how to sew. If they had a blouse that lost a button they would just throw the whole thing away. I’m sure you would fix it and I’ve seen you sew things. So you are a lot like the women here used to be. I hope you teach your children how to do these things. I think it will help them and help you. In the 1940s, 50’s and 60’s a man would expect that his wife could sew and fix their clothes. Today, I don’t think any men even think that their clothes could even be fixed. They would just throw them away. This is why I like to watch you. Because you are a good woman and good mother and remind me of the way they used to be around here. Maybe I should move to Vietnam!

Two years ago I took an onion bag and embedded it within cement and made a slab out of it and let it dry and solidify and it’s been in my yard all this time as a stepping stone and has not cracked.
