You can run the engine with the valve cover removed, but it's messy. A common trick is to put a sheet of cardboard up to block oil splashing around.

How do you know your lifters went bad, im about to tear my valve cover off, any indicators, im guessing u need a new valve cover gasket as well when you replace it??

Tick that goes away with oil warming up. If it's a persistent tick likely a much deeper issue, but if it only comes in say the winter after car has been sitting for 12+ hrs, likely this simple fix. Research your own engine.

Think you’ll need to remove the cams for valve springs since you need quite a bit of pressure to replace the retainers for that hold the valve stems in place. Best to try and avoid making mistakes when doing engine work

Pretty sure I have the same exhaust manifold as you. How did you get so much clearance around your head? Mine is practically touching on the 2nd from left runner. Had to dent the tube to get it to not touch lol

This is how I lifted mine last night. I used a flat tipped screwdriver on the first 3-4 then used a door jam tool but it was the same result. Nice.

I have a fwd 09 tl and I'm telling you g35x / g37x beats me any other day (i'm talking drag only not zig zagging like a moron). The automatic tranny on the acuras is outdated heavy and shifts gears like an old man. It is sad to say this but its the truth.

He's right, this is the base 3.5 model in the video. The Tl Channel most likely has the 3.7 thats 305 hp and if its the six speed manual. The g35 would never have a chance.

@@Wrecklessresolve there's no Tl with a 3.7 with 305 hp. They all come in 3.5 and have 280. The infiniti G35 (2007) and up have a over 300 hp not acuras lol

If the cam lobe is off up and the valve is open then the valve is probably bent

Yes! Bleed them (other videos exist how to do that) before installation that's extremely important

The G35 is only 300 pounds lighter but it only has 280 hp while he Acura has 305. My 3.7 sh-awd Acura TL would smoke any g35.

It's the gearing. The 4th gen TL's 5AT is just no good. The 4th gen TL is also really heavy. Try that against a 3rd gen TL with a 6MT =)

I'm in the process of building one myself! Is it worth going from t9300 to x9000? I have the intel wifi 5300 on Middleton 2.29 sata ll bios with samsung 840 evo 120gb SSD. Would 8GB pc2-6400 (800 mhz) work on these machines? Thanks. Great build!

04av6 I was with you untill your last 2 comments. Perfect shifts or not unless it's a shitty driver in that G37 its not happening. I've have a 2012 g37x and I've yet to lost to any accord coupe and mine is alot slower then the rear wheel drive version

I race my friend g37 and I walk him. He was like that Accord is quick. He was an Auto tho. But it still gave me a hard time in 1 till I shift in to 2.3 I was gone.

The only way that can happen is if dude was driving in gas save D mode and had the 5 speed pre 2009 tranny. But against a 2009 and newer year with the 7 speed.. trust me your gonna get walked. Look at the trap speeds of both cars. On my car 1st gear is weak as fuckk lol 3rd gear is like a blast of nitros tho. The 7 speed vs the 5 speed tranny is like night and day

4th Gen TL 3.5 is heavy and only comes with 6AT. If you faced with 3rd gen TL-S 6MT, it would be different story.

Gen4 TL base is 3.5, but any other trim is 3.7 with 305hp, 275tq and opt 6spd mt. And this car is the fastest 4door honda/acura ever made in USA...

dj 3,7 TL's output is the most powerful acura ever made it, but if you consider its weight since it is 300pound heavier than 3G TL-s, you cannot have +19hp advantage
