I would loose a day not to have that type of pain thank you. It's bad enough the patient is ill and contemplating the outcome of the test and then have an extremely painful procedure on top of everything else, why should a patient have to then be compassionate to the inconvenience's of a doctor or anesthesiologist's schedule?

If a patient can be put under for a colonoscopy, there’s no reason why they can’t receive the same sedation for a BMB… period. I would never agree to have a BMB without being fully sedated. I’ve seen them performed and I’ve known many people who went through the procedure themselves, and they all said it was extremely painful, even excruciating. It’s barbaric to deny full sedation to all patients who have to undergo this procedure.
