Oh god these sea pens ideas are so damn unrealistic and don’t seem to work. how can an animal that’s been in captivity so long just magically adapt to the wild again. it’s all a damn experiment and it’s wrong. No she should have never been taken from her pod defiantly wrong but unfortunately it’s to late.

Keiko is not a good example. We actually know Corky's family. Keiko's family was UNKOWN. We did integrate a baby orca with her relatives - Springer. They recognized she spoke the language and integrated her and got her to adapt. She was one of theirs. If they could get Corky back to her mother, they'd help her. It's wrong to separate her from her mother and family.

This makes me so sad. Shame in SeaWorld. The veterinarian shouldn't be a veterinarian if he doesn't know about natural instincts. They never forget, they are like elephants in the water. Example: I never taught my hunting dog how to hunt, her instincts love to hunt and track. Start putting live salmon and fish in her pool and I guarantee she will know how to eat them. Her pod will accept her back because she has the language with her pod. Because of their lack of knowledge of orcas this is animal abuse! Where is OSHA? Her living conditions are awful, lets get her out!!! What can we do?? Can we buy her?

Read or listen to the book "Beneath the Surface" by a trainer of many years and involved with Sea World parks in the US and a park in France. He speaks of all the orcas by name with many stories. Corky is repeatedly mentioned, before commenting for or against check the book out.

This is horrible for these poor orcas living in these concrete pools performing these stupid shows with loud music and people screaming and clapping let these poor orcas transition back into their natural habitat the ocean i dont understand how people can watch these shows years ago when they caught the orcas from the ocean they seaworld would deprive them of food till they learned tricks horrible we are in 2023 lets do better seaworld and other sea parks

Yes, it's sad she's in Seaworld, but if she was to be released today, she would get sick and pass away out in the wild, like Keiko did. She's the oldest, and therefore, more likely to get infections and/or sick or something worse. But, I will say this: She should be in a seapen!

Keiko became sick because of human contact.if corky was put back in the sea after rehabilitation with her family, she might get a chance if things are done well to cut contact with humans.We must try. We MUST give her a chance instead of using her freedom to make happy some children that might forget that show anyways

@@Fox.White. Except it's not possible. For starters, she has no family that she knows. Her siblings were born after she was captured and her mother is dead. Her pod would be a bunch of strangers to her. She has been in captivity for 50+ years, you don't just 'cut contact with humans' after all that, especially for a whale that loves and trusts them as much as she does. She's old, she's the adoptive mother of every young orca she lives with, she gets along with all of them (except Ulises). By ripping her away from them and dumping her, first alone in a sea pen and then in the wild, you're doing exactly what you blame SeaWorld for. Right now, there's plans to rehabilitate Lolita, the second oldest orca in captivity. It's not going well. She's sick and doesn't tolerate change yet they want to start moving her around asap. They're not trying to release her for her benefit, but for the sake of the activists. It won't be any different with Corky. She's well where she is now.

Evil bastards! If they gave a crape about their whales they would retire them to one of the sanctuaries out there, but to much money lost that way! The fact that a VET can confidently say that living in a small small concrete box doing the same monotonous tricks to bearing music and noisy crowds is a good life beggars belief!!!! Clearly knows nothing about orca behaviour, or is being paid to well to speak the truth! Disgusting!!!
