Hi my friend I have been walking my dog on a trail right from the house the past two weeks and every morning I see Ravens and get very close to them and often speak to them, and the past few days I realize I hadn't seen anything new from you and keep trying to remember to check on you, seeing you hadn't posted in a while figured I would check. Great idea by the way .

I have 3 set up configurations drawn out on paper and i keep them in my pack. This one is first. Thanks for the front mod idea BTW. The other is a tipi and the third is a strong hexamid for windy conditions. Got that from a Dutch guy who lobes tarp camping. The first configuration which is quite standard is good if you have a fire near to get some heat in there. The totally enclosed ones are for the real emergency with bad stormy weather.
@ravencreekoutdoors77757 ай бұрын
I'd love to see the other configurations you have on your diagram. I love tarp camping. Not a huge fan of tents, except the different military styles. My favorite cold weather tarp shelter is the Adirondack. Thanks for watching friend!

Nice variation. I like it, particularly because it provides some ground cover. Dropping the awning and staking that corner out just a foot or so would provide a doorway to help block changing winds.
@ravencreekoutdoors77758 ай бұрын
Yeah that's a good idea, you'd still have an awning if you want and it'd be low enough to block changing or swirling winds. Thanks for the tip and thanks for watching.

I have the same tarp. Quite a value for $30. I’ve been seeing this set up recently but I saw a 9 yr old version from Far North Bushcraft. I was surprised it escaped me for so long. Good video. Give a wrap around the forked stick to prevent sliding. That was a great way to add volume inside.
@ravencreekoutdoors77758 ай бұрын
I haven't seen ole Lonnie from Far North on here for about a year, I wonder if he's ok? I got that Kalinco Hammocks 3m x 3m tarp from Amazon about 6 or 7 years ago for $70. It's held up quite well. Thanks for watching friend.

I've not seen this setup, but I can see how either this inspired the pyramid tarp tent or vice versa. You can lift either corner to shade or shelter as the wind or sun shifts. A trekking pole would serve as an adequate substitute for the stick on the corner if you can't find one. Well done, sir.

It was useful. I'm going to put a few tarps in my camping bag. It would be nice in a survival situation or just camping. Or even at the beach to keep the sun off. I don't know if you ever watched the show alone? They all bring a tarp for shelter, but I rarely see anyone use it that good.
