Love Rokflote, but still think Ian should suck it up and re-connect with Martin Barre one last time. They could even generate an album around the theme two old men coming to terms with their tempestuous relationship as they approach the end of their lives.

Bravo Jethro Tull. Bravo Ian Anderson, conductor, composer, instrumentalist and vocalist. I too miss the younger years yet the songwriting and pure genius/talent of Ian makes up for it.
@DPMomutant Жыл бұрын
I hate hearing what the years have done to his voice because the flute playing and the energy is all there, his mind is sharp too. He's doing it because he wants to, not because he has to. If only he'd let someone else sing - let him play and banter live but they could get so much more range with another singer.

Ian has had his time in the sun. He is now in the winter of his discontent. Ian, please put your music into musical notation so the world will know your music in 20 to 100 years from now. But alas, Ian is a snob and will take his ball and go home

I don’t understand how some fans say , it is good , continue Ian you are doing very well , voice is not bad Better than year ago ? , . It is time to retire Ian , you destroyed Jethro Tull when fired M Barre and Perry and Giddings, your new members are background. And besides that you can’t sing anymore .
@javierllerena5756 Жыл бұрын
Ian Anderson was my favorite musician until he fired the old members of Jethro Tull M Barre , A Giddings D Perry D Pegg and J Noyce. Then he started with new members forming a very bad band . It is imposible to understand why Ian Anderson is insisting in doing these king of presentations that don’t represent the Jethro Tull style and music , the other side M Barre band is performing too much better Jethro Tull music .

I'm a long-time Tull fan. I just got the new Tull album, RokFlote. Ian writes for his vocal limits, the music is great, and his flute playing has never been better. But, sad to say, he needs to get someone else to sing the old songs.
@stanferraro4130 Жыл бұрын
I agree , I've attended many shows over the last 35 yrs( last one was in '05), it is sad to see him struggling with the older songs, and his weight gain has been hard to accept, he used to be such a dynamic performer and an incredible stage presence. But I love the new album, and I don't think that I need to see them live again..(except vids on You Tube)
@javierllerena5756 Жыл бұрын
He also needs other guitarist other drummer other keyboardist and other bassist, he made big mistake by firing M Barre A Giddings and D Perry.

I don't understand his insistence on singing a half beat behind. He started doing it 25 years ago, he was also cupping his ear to stay in key, and at first I was ok with it but it's gotten really bad. Actually it's not as bad as it was a couple of years ago and that's probably because of the newer ear pieces, but I give him a ton of credit for still getting up there to do what he does and I'm hoping most audiences are there for the musicianship which is pretty good, just doesn't have the same vibe. Even Florian brought something interesting but this new guitar player, meh.
