Saw this movie for the first time. What a great movie. Honestly I got choked up especially when Frosty tells Jay that he loves him. Didn’t expect him to pass away tho. RIP Jay

I never knew who jay was until i watched the movie chasing mavericks. After watching the end of that movie it teared me up knowing that that was him in real life at the end. I wish jay was still here with us but he will always be in our thoughts and will always be the hero of surfing. Live like jay❤️

They say the light that shines brightest burns out the quickest. I never knew Jay and didn't even hear of him until 20 years after his death but watching the documentary on mavericks, they ended with talking about Jay and it broke my heart. The best thing I can say is that he died in the place he belonged: the ocean. I don't say that to he flippant about his death, I say that because the ocean is where he shined brightest.
