I am so excited that you are excited about this new adventure. I have had personal trainers many times in the past and I have always found them helpful. Some more than others of course but every trainer did offer me something. I hope this is a great experience for you and your wife!

Hey that's awesome about the trainer! That can be a lot of fun! I just got my first Dexa scan, too, actually--and also didn't love my results. Haha. But it's good to have a baseline and point of comparison. And like you said--lots of room for improvement! Haha I like that

Awesome to hear from you and exciting about the personal trainer! I hope you keep us updated on how that goes! I've also always liked the idea of someday getting a personal trainer....

Ok, so I saw you mention Ready Player One here and that you liked the book. How did you like the movie?
@GastricTiger6 жыл бұрын
I really liked the movie. I compare it to the way Spielberg adapted Jurassic Park. There are elements of the movie that are the same as the book, but it stands up on its own. There were enough changes that I didn't know what was coming next (and surprises like the Shining sequence), so it was like I got to experience the story again for the first time. I left the theater with a huge smile on my face.
@gastric_measures21066 жыл бұрын
That's an interesting take and I'll have to go see it again with that in mind because I was.....mad and disappointed, at least at first. But the more I've thought about it, maybe I should try to look at them as two separate entities.

Scott I'm glad to see you are back after it! We both know it's a long road but definitely worth it in the end! Anytime you are in KC visiting and need a workout partner I'd be happy to workout with you! And I guess my little cousin (your wonderful wife) can tag along :)

Thanks Jim. We all have to deal with some unfortunate turns, and sometimes those take precedence for a time. Now it's back to putting a little more focus back on this part of my life. The process always continues.

Great to see you back! Congrats on the 6 pound loss. That's quite a bit for only 2 weeks. Sorry things haven't worked out as you and your wife had hoped. Sometimes you have to let go before something wonderful and new can happen. Any chance we can see the beautiful wife sometime in the future?

Scott, my husband and I opted for the same decision. We came to peace with the idea of just the two of us... needless to say we have an 8 year old daughter and 16 month old son. I know this isn’t the case for everyone, but just sharing that sometimes when one door is closed God opens another one. Praying for comfort for you both, I know that’s a difficult emotional road. Congrats on the weight loss. Nice to see you back!
@GastricTiger6 жыл бұрын
Sometimes God says yes, sometimes he says wait, and sometimes he says no. When it is something we have wanted for so long it is hard to accept the no. Even though there was a feeling of loss, there was also an immense peace with this decision. We can leave a legacy without having our own children. We have no idea what God's better thing is, but we are keeping out eyes open for what he has in store for us. If God drops children in our lives it would be a blessing, but we have a peace knowing we are happy, we have each other, and have a great love/friendship/partnership.

Gastric Tiger love this reply... a true testament to the love you two have for each other, the strength of your marriage and commitment to each other ...and above all your trust in God... thank you for sharing your story 🙏🏻💕

Hey Scott! I was just thinking about you. It’s so good to see your face again. Celebrate that 6lb lose. That’s awesome 👏. Im sorry you and your wife are having such a hard time in the fertility department, maybe a break from focusing on it is all you need. Fingers crossed 🤞 I’m looking forward to seeing you more often 😃
@GastricTiger6 жыл бұрын
We came to the conclusion that we aren't supposed to be parents in the traditional sense. We are finding other ways to leave out legacy (mentoring, big brother/big sister programs, etc). Those closed doors have opened up some interesting and exciting opportunities, and the flexibility to be there for family and friends in need. We just need to figure out our new direction.

Great to see you again. I looked at your channel just a couple of days ago hoping to see you were back--and here you are! Glad things are starting to settle down a bit, and you're finding your groove again with eating and exercise. 6lbs is awesome. :)

It's awesome to know people are still watching to see if I'm still here. It has been a whirlwind, but feels good coming out on the other side. I'm cautiously optomistic about the 6 pounds down (I've gained and lost those pounds multiple times over the past year), but it is progress.

Everyone will say don't give up, and there's also nothing wrong with not having kids or moving forward! I say this from a place of pcos, one ovary, and my husband has fertility issues too. We went through a lot of painful treatments early on in our marriage. The peace it brought us in moving forward is the best decision for us! I hope you both find peace!

I will pray for you. Don't give up. I did not conceive my first child until 40. I have a history of cysts as well.

Either or both of you can volunteer as a CASA like I’ve done for many years. So rewarding! Costs very little compared to having a kid or adopting if you’re not up for that. Just a suggestions. I’m still in touch with the two girls I was a CASA two and it’s been over 20 years for one of them. If you and your wife want to be parents, you won’t let hassle or something not being easy get in the way. Don’t settle ....a kid would be lucky to have you in their life.
