My Durango 2016 have this code P1D99 you think is the valve body or do i need a new transmission?

The code your Durango is throwing is an incorrect gear ratio error, there are several reasons that code could be being presented including low fluid, burnt internals or bad valves inside the valve body. Question ; I'm a long since retired Tech. I do airport transportation with my 2013 Hyundai Sonata. I do mostly highway miles and I'm still one of those crazy people who changes oil every 3000 miles (synthetic). I also change the transmission fluid every 15000 miles and drain and refill the cooling system every year. Spark plugs and belt every 50,000 miles. In other words, I need my car to perform at all times. I do most of the work myself. I had my engine decarboned at my Hyundai dealer at 70,000 miles. My tech said there was very little carbon compared to other vehicles of that mileage because of the way I drive and how I take care of the car. Should I just keep going the way I'm going?

Shepperd November, that's what I do with my 05 civic and until now running like a champ. The only difference is I have kilometers not miles.

Just use ethanol free gas and pour in a bottle of injection cleaner at every oil change is what I was told. My '15 Kia Cadenza with a 292hp GDI V6 is at 23k miles and purrs like a kitten even under hard acceleration.

TheTallMan35 you’re only at 23k. thats wayyyyyyy too early to tell. my 2013 Sonata GLS is now exactly 130k. absolutely no problems at all. mpg is still the same as when i first bought it brand new. freeway - 34mpg. City - 22. Combined - about 29mpg. All of these sellings are cons but there are people fallen for it.

VW or Audi (can't remember) did a nice write up regarding this and the use of the "Italian Tune-Up" which I've started to do on a regular basis.

Or just find you a gas station that sells gas that doesn't contain Ethanol and always fill up with that. At least that's what my local Hyundai dealer told me.

Fuel doesn't matter as it doesn't touch the valves. The carbon build up is usually caused because of the crank case gas recycling that's required by emissions standards.

Bull, our 2010 Ford Expedition with direct injection has never had any upper intake cleanings or any fuel additive, and our engine runs great. Even had a mechanic at Ford look at ours which only had a little carbon build up on them, told us to simply drive the car for 15-30 minutes at a higher RPM to clean them off. There's no need for this cleaning service if you drive your vehicle hard or drive long distances.

Hi Garrett, not all makes & models are exactly the same - your Ford may have a different set up (the 2010 Expedition comes standard with the 5.4 V8 Triton, not the Gasoline-Direct-Inject Engine). The Hyundais and newer imports in particular are experiencing this problem in almost every instance. The manufacturers have recognized this as a problem with GDi engines and are recommending the Fuel Cleaning service to prevent catastrophic engine failure due from the carbon buildup - mostly because their warranty companies have been paying out too much for new engines! New technology is great, but we often don't know how it will unfold until a couple of years down the road....

This is kind of a freak case that the engine got destroyed as a result. But Carbon buildup often kills catalytic converters and turbos after about 80,000 miles because the unburnt carbon is like hot sparks going through the exhaust manifold. Definitely better to have an intake cleaning done.

Could you tell me where is injector for Sonata 2012 GDi .. I mean where is located because i want to clean it and got problem of engine knocking That is why I want to clean injector

Aram, make sure this is your actual issue. If there's massive carbon buildup, it'll go directly into the cylinder. This video pertains to cleaning the intake valves, not the injector. It may be time to have a trusted professional check it out for you.
