In the Catholic Church, we celebrate the Blessed Virgin Mary's story, which was passed by the saints who had been given by God the ability to be clairvoyant and see the past, present and future and recorded it in their writings. The showrunners probably got their information from the Catholic Church. But also remember, nowhere in scripture did it say that the Bible is called the "Bible" ,but I'm sure we didn't make THAT up, either. And also, God heralds Mary to be the Mother of God and NOT God. Courage is a form of faith, too. She praised God and called Him Her Savior! Also, nowhere in scripture will you find Mary insulting Her husband. So She wasn't a "strong independent woman", but a firm codependent wife. 😊 And Mel Gibson was given a vision by God about what really happened in that event. So in conclusion, Catholics will LOVE thos movie.😊😊😊😊

Iove them both. I was raised with karen carpenter as mother was a fan. I was a fan of evas since songbird. Im one of the few who knew her work and knew her ability before everyone else. I guve the edge to eva simply because shes also a sublime guitarist, and the fact shed only been playing a year at the time of these recordings is amazing as she plays it as a true duet with her voice. She was infinitely creative, changing up standards to the point you wondere why it wasn't written that way. Seriously, to take a song that was named the #1 song of the 20th century in an iconic movie such as wizard of oz sung by a legend as judy garland, take it and keep the essence but make it hers is no easy feat. She was also more versatile, effortlessly singing jazz to blues, to standards to gospel and each time leave people awed. To think if not for these recordings, which nearly didn't happen multiple times, we would never have known this voice and thats lrobably the biggest difference between them. We nearly never knew her. Got to wonder how many other geniuses out there the world will never know. Last thing, in all this comparing berween Eva and Karen, can we mention the original singer and songwriter of the song eva's covering here? Cyndi lauper was no slouch either in the vocalist department and has said Eva's rendition was amazing.

I’m 70 and what you are saying about the “clean cut” is exactly right. The first few Beatles albums were that way and their movies were that way. As the music and culture changed, their look changed. African Americans always dressed nice, like they were appearing in a night club. At least the mainstream musicians did-white people had the money to buy their records and they maintained an immaculate look (esp in the do wop and Motown times) There were probably black performers who were out of the mainstream and had a different look/feel, a “jazz club feel” rather than a “night club look”. But the performers on shows like Ed Sullivan had to appeal to middle class whites, whether the performers were white, or, especially, black.. This song was a big hit and demonstrates how radio was back then. Everyone listened to AM and the songs were 2-3 minutes long-the radio stations needed advertising revenue and they felt that lots of short songs was the way to do it. Hits had to pack a lot into that short of a time frame and they often sound to me that they are longer than they are. I was 11 years old and fell in love with it. I didn’t know Petula Clark wrote it and had released it as a single, but I know her style and can easily imagine her singing it! Great reaction.

I love The Eagles so much. I’m 70 and I grew up with them. They were such a healing sound at the end of Vietnam. Just that SoCal sweet vibe that brought the joy. They turned into great singer/songwriter writers who made history. But as Henley said in the documentary, “We made it and it ate us.” I was really glad they were able to get back together later on and tour again. Glenn and Randy are gone but not forgotten. So glad people are discovering them again.

"Trump is a very humorous guy, who can laugh at himself" .. Wow. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? This is pure gas-lighting. Trump literally has NO sense of humour, he's the most thin-skinned person ever to hold office. He goes nuclear on ANYONE who criticizes or mocks him and viciously attacks them, gives them childish nick-names. On top of that he NEEDS to be praised and is easy to manipulate by stroking his ego, which is why starting in 2017 you saw a shameless parade of feckless GOP politicians and media figures going on camera saying "Trump is the greatest man since Jesus". They know they'll get closer to power by sucking up. Keep in mind this was WEEKS after they publicly declaring Trump a pathological liar and malignant narcissist (as the rest of us saw / see). What's so confounding to me, is how wannabe alpha-male bros see him as a tough guy. Literally all he does is whine and complain about how badly he's treated, cheated on all of his wives -- including Melania with a porn star that he paid off to keep quiet, defrauded charities, sells NFT trading cards and other junk, ran a sham University that scammed suckers out of their money, and the poor guy was born a multimillionaire, had his daddy bail him out over $400 million throughout his multiple bankruptcies, failed upwards (Except as a successful entertainer as a gameshow host) and then complains that nobody's had it harder than him. You've drank the koolaid man, you're in the right-wing echo chamber. Don't conflate CNN/MSNBC with leftists, there is no equivalent on the left to the vast right-wing media apparatus the right has cultivated online. Sadly Americans are so wildly ignorant and gullible they're perfect marks to fall for this crap.

Their cast is terribly unfunny, and the writing is too political and biased. Get funny comedians, write classic jokes, and maybe then they'll appeal to a bigger audience.

They went to the same HS and she was drumming. She worked with the head of the HS choir on her range. Once Carpenters king Herb Alpert at A&M Records…the studio and Richard wanted her up front. When Herb Alpert heard Karen’s voice he said he was immediately charmed! There’s an emotional aspect to Karen’s voice. The musicians studio said her voice was mature at age 16. Karen was a sweet and pure sole. This song was written by Leon Russell. She was beautiful inside/out. Petula Clark said she had something inside her emotionally that was something so special. She did a great duet with the legendary Ella Fitzgerald!

Here's a fun fact: This song was written by the bass player, Randy Meisner (RIP Randy). He hated singing this song live and felt the others were forcing him to do it. It's too bad he felt that way because I don't think he realized how good he was.
