I'm also an ESL teacher and I hope you don't mind me telling you that the words used in sentences 2, 4, 5 and 9 are not used in the correct context. We usually use "deafening" (and also "hushed") when describing inanimate objects such as music or the train (or hushed voices but we can use it as a verb with people eg. the mother hushed her kids). For "flawless" you can say he achieved a flawless result but "perfect" would be the most common word here as there is no such thing as "very perfect". For #9 we would just say a "wet" month or monsoon season. Hope this helps you.
