Art isn't just about refined technique, it's about expressing inner energy and he does that very well. You feel the energy of the creator.

Leifeld doesn't love comics, he knows a lot about it because it's his full time business to know about it. He uses that knowledge to make it seem like he loves comics that much in front of audience, that's how good a con man he is. Leifeld would lie and sell his own (fill in the blank) for money. He learned about hype from Stanley.

glad it all worked out for todd in the end. as a kid growing up on everything spawn, i always was amazed by his work. by far the greatest comic book character (dare i say hero?) imo.

Liefeld has a lot of faults, artistically... but being a bad artist wasn't among them. He drew exactly what the comics publishers of the time wanted him draw based on what the readers of the time wanted to see.

3:36 woah woah woah what the _fuck_ are you telling me that when some industry pro offer me some genuine constructive criticism that instead of having a tantrum meltdown saying how theyre just haters who don't understand genius that should instead take it and incorporate their remarks into my work and improve it in a way that those same industry pros will like?

Marvel made ZERO mistakes, DC either. Not one. Elfquest would have been cancelled by issue three there. It was impossible to integrate into any kind of existing universe, it was not the kind of story either of those companies could or would do well. They did the Pinis a favor bc Elfquest would have been a shortlived footnote with Marvel or DC. Without a question.

elf quest is an interesting sci-fi plot of Zionism. The Elves (Jews) ingathering of the diaspora are pulled to the castle (Jerusalem) and are being blocked by the Trolls (Muslims/Ottomans/Arabs) who begin to fight among themselves, (Druze, Abu Gosh) with some joining the elves (Jews) causing the elves to win and return to the castle (Jerusalem) where they (assimilated) learn about their heritage (Zionism)

This is one of the artists I can't hate. He was going through hard times and I can understand him doing whatever he can to help his family. He saw that he was a hit and very successful and he milked it for all he could. Any of us would've done the same to save or at least help the ones we truly love. He was going through a lot. I actually have a lot of respect for that. So I understand him even though he acted sh!tty. I'm just glad he grew up and realized he was acting like a clown but not only that, he calmed down and apologized to repair his friendships, not for money but because he truly cared about those people and didn't want to lose them. I'm also VERY happy that Todd gave him another shot and holds no grudges. Whether they work together or not, I'm glad they're friends. Todd is a wonderful friend for that! 👍👍👍

Sure he could have done some things better, but no one is perfect. The guys had to deal with so much adversity and still kept at it, ever improving. RESPECT!!! Loved his work in the 90s... super curious to check out the later years. Great video! Well done.

As Argentinian, good video. The only thing I would correct is the small mention of the dissapearence of people. The 30.000 number was a Political Stunt made by a Modern Political Party called Kirchnerism, and the "Madres de Plaza de Mayo" Ex-Members have already come out in the past to publicly state that they made up and exaggerated the number so it would make more "Impact" Wheater or not this was a good idea or not, it has long been confirmed that the numbers are fake. As there is no actual source for said numbers. And the only people who defend said numbers are people from those same Political parties (Usually extremists but not all of them)

This is the same in all industries. Wether it the stealth coat for the American bombers or the recipe for vegetarian sausage - nothing is made by the people who sell it. They just screwed over the ones that made it, in the first place.

"He knew there was not a future at the Eye Opener." They wanted to pay him double what Disney was offering. Disney put him in a back room. Any known future for him, was to be unknown. Guy almost went to his grave thinking that everything he did may have just been a waste of time. Can you imagine the burden of that in your later years - brought to you by Disney.

The US is full of haters. I can tell you firsthand, keep stressing and grinding, you who are at the bottom. No matter what lowly situation you're in, no opportunities and people trying to step over you, keep fighting them. Most people who've made it to the top with the help of others or their families wealth and connections, hate you and are wishing you fail in every breath they steal, but this is proof that no matter what lowly neighborhood you come from, if your social circumstances are against you, theres always a way, when you really try to get what you want. Mcfarlane achieved what was impossible and his drive was simple. Haters are always gonna hate, and family and love for oneself comes first.
